The Sony Xperia 10 VI was launched in June 2024, but according to previous rumors, the Xperia 10 VII won't be unveiled until October. Case manufacturer SpinoArmor has already listed a first protective case for Sony's next-generation mid-range smartphone on Amazon Japan, offering a first glimpse of the Xperia 10 VII's possible design.
The images reveal one major innovation in particular: Sony appears to have opted for a pill-shaped camera module that spans almost the entire width of the back, arranging the two cameras side by side instead of one above the other like on the previous model. The camera module also houses two microphones and an LED flash. As always, Sony is opting for a display with relatively wide bezels above and below the panel, meaning the device doesn't have a notch or punch-hole.
The volume buttons and lock button are located on the right side, where the case also has a mounting point for a wrist strap. These images do not show a camera shutter button, although the Xperia 10 VII is expected to have a dedicated camera button. As usual, such early leaks should be treated with caution, as it is unclear whether the design of the Xperia 10 VII shown here corresponds to the final design of the smartphone.
Few details about the Xperia 10 VII's specifications have been revealed to date. Rumors suggest that Sony will install a relatively small 6.1-inch display in an elongated 21:9 format, making the Xperia 10 VII one of the slimmest smartphones on the market. The frame is said to be made of metal instead of plastic, and Sony is said to be replacing the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 with the newer Snapdragon 6 Gen 4.
