Vivo is not ready to replace the X200 series just yet. However, it has been spotted offering the clearest indication yet about two of the upgrades the company has planned for the X300 and X300 Pro, less than 24 hours after Google revealed its Pixel 10, Pixel 10 Pro and Pixel 10 Pro XL flagships (curr. $1,119 on Amazon).
As it stands, both devices are expected to debut next month around the time MediaTek unveils the Dimensity 9500 that will underpin the pair. For context, MediaTek is reputed to have scheduled its Dimensity 9500 launch event for September 22, 24 hours before the start of Qualcomm's presumed Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 showcase.
While Vivo has not commented on which chipset will power its future flagships, it has confirmed that they will utilise new Samsung and Sony camera sensors. Specifically, the company has committed to using the Sony LYT-828 as their primary cameras and a new 200 MP Samsung sensor as their telephoto cameras.
Although the exact Samsung sensor remains unknown for now, Sony officially launched the LYT-828 in late June. A 1/1.28-inch and 50 MP sensor, the LYT-828 also features 1.22 μm wide pixels; please see our LYT-828 launch article for more details. Moreover, Vivo has suggested that these sensors will work in tandem with its VS1 and V3+ in-house sensors to deliver improved image quality over its previous flagships.
