Marketing material and the features and technical specifications sheet for the Dell Precision 7740 workstation have apparently been leaked on the Chinese website Chiphell. The new information seems to match the details in documents that were also leaked earlier this month. The Precision 7740 will offer users a choice between AMD Radeon Pro WX GPUs and Nvidia’s seemingly brand-new mobile Quadro RTX GPUs.

A user on Chiphell has posted a lot of information about the upcoming Dell Precision 7740 workstation laptop. Along with promo images of the device that Dell claims is “the world’s most powerful mobile workstation” there is a full spec sheet for the Precision 7740. In terms of CPUs, it seems potential buyers can choose from an Intel Core i5-9400H chip all the way up to a powerful Intel Xeon E-2286M option, which will allow the Precision 7740 to join the ranks of 8-core laptops.

Seven CPUs are mentioned as options for the Dell Precision 7740, either Core-branded processors from the Coffee Lake-H Refresh (CFL-HR) series or new Xeon-branded workstation chips. Memory options for the powerful workstation are plentiful: Users can select a paltry 8 GB or work their way up through the RAM options to a massive 128 GB alternative. For storage, a generous 12 choices are listed, including a 2 TB HDD and a 1 TB PCIe Class 50 SSD.

The mention of mobile Quadro RTX GPUs for the Dell Precision 7740 seems to confirm the previous leaked documents that stated Nvidia was preparing these variants. Shoppers can select integrated graphics for the forthcoming laptop or plump for either an AMD Radeon Pro WX 3200 or Radeon Pro WX 7130. However, if you fancy one of the new mobile Nvidia Quadro RTX options, there are three to choose from for the Precision 7740: RTX 3000 (6 GB GDDR6), RTX 4000 (8 GB GDDR6), and the top-end Quadro RTX 5000 (16 GB GDDR6).

Along with super-powerful CPUs and GPUs, the Dell Precision 7740 can also be configured with a number of display options. The 17.3-inch workstation can come with an HD screen, an FHD panel, or even a UHD display with 100% color gamut RGB. The choices don’t stop with the display: There’s a lot to browse through in regard to communications (up to Wi-Fi 6 standard), security, and multimedia.

Users of the Dell Precision 7740 are not confined to a Windows OS ecosystem either, as both Ubuntu and Red Hat are offered. Whether the Precision 7740 really is the world’s most powerful mobile workstation is open for argument (especially from HP), but if this leaked information is accurate then Dell certainly seems to have pulled out all the stops for this extremely powerful 8-core laptop.
