The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom offers one of the widest zoom ranges we have seen, from 16mm ultra-wide to 130mm tele-lens, and puts in a solid performance in almost all areas, earning itself an excellent DXOMARK Camera overall score of 116 and a spot in the top ten in our ranking. There is some room for improvement for the zoom and ultra-wide lens modules, which suffer from fusion artifacts, but overall, the Oppo is still a great choice for mobile photographers who want the option to zoom in on a subject or out to widen the field of view. With a very good video performance added to the mix, the Oppo is a an excellent device for tackling any mobile imaging task.

The Reno 10x Zoom feels a lot like the OnePlus 7 Pro, but trades that phone's phenomenal screen for a better camera instead - a trade-off that's likely to make sense for a lot of people. It's got top specs, decent battery, and a slick design - as long as you don't mind the shark fin.

While this was launched before the Cricket World Cup it did not arrive with me until the Cricket season was finished. Indeed anyone watching the main courts at Wimbledon would have seen the ‘oppo’ name on the show courts, great advert but how many will have known what the name referred to.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom feels stylish in a way few phones do, from its smooth rear design to the asymmetrical and unapologetic pop-up camera. It may feel a little slow to use at times, thanks to the slow-to-respond user interface, but in general it’s a processing powerhouse that’ll do all you ask of it and more.

Should you buy the Reno 10x Zoom Edition? It’s a well-designed phone with a quirky selfie camera, vibrant display, and fantastic battery life. Plus, the high-quality rear cameras and ultra-fast charging technology show that OPPO knows what it is doing. If you can handle ColorOS 6, OPPO’s Reno 10x Zoom Edition is all the phone you need. You can currently grab the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom Edition (6GB/128GB) from Amazon UK for just £519.

Overall though we're happy to recommend the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom – it's just that there isn't much that really stands out about it in what's an increasingly crowded market. You could certainly do a lot worse than the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom, but maybe you could do better as well.

In Europe, the Reno 10x Zoom can be found between 579 to 649€ depending on storage configuration. The issue I had with the Reno 10x is that I don’t feel like it had any one defining feature that put it ahead of the competition. Everything was relatively passable or adequate, not shining in any one area. For being a jack-of-all-trades, master-of-none phone, I feel it doesn’t convince me enough to actively recommend the phone over a competing solution. The phone has a cheaper sibling in the regular Reno, and the Reno 2 will also be released soon, but again I don’t feel like those phones substantially change the formula to make them worthwhile phones. Let’s hope Oppo continues to iterate in future designs, and better optimise and improve upon the core aspects of its phones.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is a fantastic example of a device which does absolutely everything it needs to. Aside from a slightly iffy UI and the lack of an IP rating, there’s virtually nothing to complain about here.

This is a sizeable device that’s great for media lovers, mobile photographers or those who are looking for a Huawei P30 Pro alternative that doesn’t rub the US government the wrong way. So long as you can handle its specific brand of software and some specific design quirks, Oppo’s made an impressively-strong play for one of the better phones of 2019.

After the OnePlus 7, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is among the most affordable phones offering a Snapdragon 855 processor in India. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom offers a promising spec sheet with superior camera features. On paper, it takes on directly with the OnePlus 7 Pro at an affordable price. However, the OnePlus 7 Pro does have a slight edge with the 90Hz display and Oxygen OS. But if you are not a tight budget of around Rs 40,000, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is a great device to buy with all the style and performance that lacks in the vanilla OnePlus 7.

The Reno 10x Zoom is a true flagship phone from OPPO. You get top-tier specs, top-tier cameras, and top-tier design. Of course, you will need to shed top-tier cash as it will cost you P45,990. From a consumer perspective, one can easily say it’s overpriced. But OPPO has matured in 2019. It feels like it wants to make a statement that it can also do what others are already doing. And now that Huawei’s future is up in the air, the Reno 10x Zoom is looking like a good alternative.

The Reno 10x Zoom is priced closer to the OnePlus 7 (Rs 32,999) than the OnePlus 7 Pro (Rs 48,999), but make no mistake about it, the device poses a very serious challenge to both of those worthies. Those looking to invest in the OnePlus 7 might be tempted to spend just a little more to get a far better set of cameras and a more eye-catching design, while OnePlus 7 Pro users might find the decision as simple as getting competitive specs at a much lower price. Yes, the Asus 6z does come into the mix, but the Reno offers a better camera experience and a much more premium design. No, And as we mentioned in our comparison between the two devices, the Reno 10x Zoom does score heavily when it comes to design and cameras in comparison with the Never Settler.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is rightly positioned in this price segment. The smartphone comes loaded with versatile cameras and the shark fin pop-up mechanism is pleasing to the eyes. The OPPO Reno 10X Zoom is among the most interesting smartphones of the year, given its triple cameras with 10X zoom capabilities, a gorgeous matte finish glass design with an almost bezel-less AMOLED screen, and peculiar swivel pop-up camera which makes the phone a standout in its class. In addition, the performance you get is top-notch which is a great bargain for this price.

OPPO has been working its butt off to try and get to the same level as their competitors when it comes to flagship phones, and despite their missteps with the Find X, it looks like the company finally has a solid flagship in the form of the Reno 10x Zoom. The Reno 10x Zoom isn’t quite there yet missing a few essential flagship features. That being said, it’s impressive how much OPPO has accomplished with the new phone. While people will undoubtedly snicker at the idea of dropping Php 45,990 for a phone made by OPPO, the Reno 10x Zoom really has a lot of tech under the hood that justifies that price tag.

The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is perhaps the best designed phone to launch this year. It feels classy and sturdy at the same time. It looks the part of a flagship, all right, but it also performs the part of a flagship really well. The performance of the phone is pretty flawless with little to no lag in loading apps, playing games and the likes. The display spans across the entire body making it feel really immersive. A major downside we found was the UI and the plethora of bloatware that clutter the notification shade in no time. The Reno 10X Zoom’s camera is the star of the show, however.

Oppo has delivered a smartphone with market-leading specifications and camera capabilities, and has somehow managed to do so within the “value flagship” price range. As one of the first few phones available in India with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom makes most other flagship phones look weak. Even the recently launched Samsung Galaxy S10e ₹ 50,900 (Review) and OnePlus 7 Pro (Review) are more expensive with less to offer. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is clearly being marketed for its 10x hybrid zoom capability, though we think 6x optical zoom is the bigger draw. Other than the much more expensive Huawei P30 Pro (Review), this phone has no competition in its niche. With the future of Huawei's smartphone business uncertain right now, we wouldn't blame people for second-guessing a purchase.

Overall, there’s plenty to like about the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom – the fascinating design punctuated by the unusual pop-up camera, the big OLED display, the amazing battery life and specs, and the capable camera. If it was priced more competitively, it would be a killer deal. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom starts at around €800 in Europe. That’s €100 more than the OnePlus 7 Pro, which may not have 10x zoom, but has a higher resolution display, similar captivating design with a pop-up camera, and more RAM. Oppo is asking a premium price for this phone, and though it may sound fair on paper, considering the specs and features on display, it puts the Reno against some very stiff competition in the high-end segment. Global availability of the Reno is still somewhat limited, but the phone has already launched in China and will be making its European and Indian debuts this week.

The Oppo Reno 10x zoom camera experience isn't as polished as the Huawei P30 Pro's. Some odd choices were made along the way, which have favored numbers on a flashy presentation over user experience. Unfortunately, its biggest weakness isn’t in hardware or software but in availability. It does sell directly in a few markets but many, especially those in the US, will have to make a leap of faith when purchasing from retailers. Considering its expected price of 799 EUR ($890), some might feel more at ease buying what’s easily and directly available to them, even if it means paying more or getting less.

After our short time playing with the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom handset, we're a little unsure of its staying power in the market – its main point of interest is the mechanical 'shark-fin', but we're still not too sure who'd prefer its bizarre look over the Samsung Galaxy A80's rotating pop-up panel or the collection of pop-up cameras coming to the market soon. It doesn't necessarily feel as high-end as its premium price tag may suggest, and Oppo could be valuing it a little higher than it's actually worth – an unbroken screen and mechanical part isn't necessarily the most important part of the phone. However things like solid battery life, durability, and plenty of power are what make a phone great and it's not easy to convey these things during a quick hands-on, so when we get our hands on the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom for a full review we may be singing a jollier tune.

My overall impression with the phone is that it does have a lot of wow factor – bearing in mind I’ve had it for about twelve hours so far. My personal requirements for a telephoto/zoom device makes the OPPO Reno 10x Zoom a high contender, along with that large OLED screen, and hopefully a good battery life. To be honest, I could perhaps do without the selfie camera – I don’t take a lot of them, but not having a selfie camera on a 2019 smartphone is suicide, and the solutions beyond a pop-up camera seem few and far between. The way OPPO has implemented it on the Reno is perhaps one of the best of the bunch, as the others can have obvious problems.

Oppo has been teasing their optical zoom concept for some time now. It was first shown in MWC Barcelona two years ago and then again in MWC 2019. But this time, it went up from 5x optical zoom to 10x zoom. Finally, the phone in its complete form is here. In terms of design, it looks as premium as it gets for today’s smartphone design. The entire front of the phone is covered in the latest Corning Gorilla Glass 6, which should give a pretty stellar build quality. Also, the front is all screen with very slim bezels on the edges. This is as full screen as it gets. Although the screen-to-body ratio is only 86.8%, the front literally features nothing other than the screen.
The front camera pops up in a shark-fin like motorized mechanism. The front earpiece is also placed at the top of this pop-up module. The clean design is extended to the back, too - with only the triple camera setup, the phone looks like it does not have much to carry. However, the dual LED flash is housed in the rear part of the pop-up module. This makes full use of an additional module that is attached to the phone with some heavy extra hardware, such as the motor. The shark-fin pop-up module only pops up when the front camera is in use or when the rear flash is activated. Otherwise, it stays down all the time, even when the earpiece is in use. Sound sips in through the gaps to listen via this earpiece. Oppo claims that the mechanism can detect falls early and retract itself to avoid any damage to it. When the mechanism is given some resistance, it would simply disable power to the motor and retry a moment later. Quite smart for something that could potentially be a huge problem for a smartphone.
The screen on this phone is a 6.6-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, bringing the pixel density to 387 pixels per inch. There is really nothing to complain about the display. It is as crisp and clear as they get. The fingerprint scanner is located under the display to cater for that all-screen design. As for the hardware, it comes with a top-of-the-range Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 octa-core processor coupled with the Adreno 640 GPU. It has an option with 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of built-in memory or 6 GB/8 GB of RAM with 256 GB of built-in option. It also features a memory-card slot to expand the memory. All three options can give some pretty amazing performance in terms of gaming and multitasking.
Despite what the name suggests, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom edition only features 5x optical zoom. It also features 10x hybrid zoom with its lossless technology, which is what the phone is named after, and up to 50x digital zoom. The triple camera setup consists of a 48MP wide angle camera with OIS, a 13MP periscope camera with 5x optical zoom and OIS, and an 8MP ultra-wide camera. There are not many reviews to test its photography capabilities yet, but early reviews put it on the flagship range. On the front part of the pop-up is a 16MP wide angle camera with LED flash. The phone also features stereo speaker output by utilizing the top earpiece. It does not have an earphone jack, and the Type-C port is placed at the mid-bottom of the phone. The Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is shipped with a large 4065mAh battery that supports Oppos’s 20W VOOC flash charge. For its price, the Oppo Reno 10x Zoom is a solid device. It delivers everything that other flagship devices do at a cheaper price and with an interesting design.

Qualcomm Adreno 640: Graphics chip for smartphones and tablets that is intergrated within the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC. Qualcomm claims that it is 20% faster than the Adreno 630 in the Snapdragon 845 SoC and offers 50% more compute units (ALUs).
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

6.60":
It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.86.47%: This is an above-average rating. Nevertheless, it should not be forgotten that about one fifth of all tested models receive a better rating.
