BLU Products has unveiled a device it touts as the "ultimate-value smartphone". It is called the G9, and has 1 SKU: 4GB of RAM with 64GB in fixed storage. This may not seem very up-to-date for any tier in 2019; however, the OEM brings it up to date somewhat with an AI-powered dual camera.
This confers a number of modes and features on the 13MP+2MP rear shooter. They include: Professional Camera Mode; facial beautification features; Group and Panorama Selfie Modes; Night Mode and a Real Time Portrait Mode. BLU Products also claims that its shots can be interpolated to 52MP using zoom-mode software.
The BLU G9 is powered by the 2.0GHz MediaTek Helio P22 SoC. Its 6.3-inch display has a resolution of 1520x720, although its screen-to-body ratio may be enhanced through its "V-Notch". The phone also has a 4000mAh battery, with a 5V/2A standard the OEM describes as "Ultra-Fast". However, as it juices up at a rate of 50% over 45 minutes, it may lag a little in this day and age.
The BLU G9 also has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor and Android 9.0 out of the box. It is now on Amazon.com for a price of US$179.99 (although, oddly, the listing also mentions an original price of $299.99).
