Xiaomi releases official promo images of the Redmi K20

The Redmi K20 may just be one of the most hyped phones of recent times. Xiaomi and especially its sub-brand, Redmi, really have to deliver with this device considering the amount of “leaks”, rumors, and blatant promotion the companies have been indulging in. Recently, the K20 has been promoted with the use of either boxing gloves or the cute “Big Devil” character. But now the actual smartphone has made an appearance in some rendered marketing material.

One of the images shows the front side while the other focuses on the rear of the Redmi K20 (see below for both). The front-side image doesn’t give away much apart from the in-display fingerprint scanner and the full-screen display. The text in the promo picture basically explains the fingerprinting system. The render for the rear of the phone is much more dramatic.

The text in the Weibo post for the second image translates into some mystical-type poetry, perhaps alluding to the “magical” or enchanting qualities of the Redmi K20. Regardless of the flowery prose, the rear of the phone is unarguably striking. The basic color seems to be Flame Red but there is some serious gradation going on here.

It’s a stunning look for the Redmi K20 and there will be many fans who love it and many who hate it. Of course, there will be more than one color choice for the self-proclaimed flagship-killer, but it remains to be seen if the hardware and aesthetic can truly match up so that Xiaomi can make a killing with the Redmi K20 in the ruthless smartphone market.
