Reviews for the Motorola Moto G7 Plus
You do not always need to spend $800 to get a smartphone that can take good photos. That is what Motorola claims with the Moto G7 Plus at least, which costs around €300 (~$339). The G7 Plus boasts an optically stabilised 16 MP camera and intelligent software features too.

With its large LCD screen, high-end glass finish, and dual-cam photography setup at a fraction of the cost of many flagship smartphones, the Motorola Moto G7 Plus will be of interest to the budget-conscious consumer. Image quality is a little off of what we’ve come to expect from top-performing devices, however, especially in video mode. For stills, limited dynamic range, undersaturated color, and artifacts are the main problems which had a significant impact on the Motorola device’s overall score and ranking. There are a couple of positives, with the G7 Plus capturing high levels of detail, as well as nice images when using flash, and the autofocus is fast and accurate in most circumstances.

For most people, the Moto G7 Plus will do a fine job of handling your day-to-day demands. For those who need it to push a little further, it’ll do that too.

The Moto G7 Plus if the flagship of the midrange. I know that might be an oxymoron but I think the Moto G7 Plus has set the benchmark for devices at and around the $500 price point. For some, it may be a little more than they wanted to spend and for others maybe even a little less then they may be willing.

Pixelation becomes very apparent after not too much zoom, although the timelapse feature works fantastically well. The typical Android three-button setup at the bottom of the screen can also be changed to a nifty one-button setup that switches between apps and can summon Google Assistant if held down. Overall, the G7 Plus is highly impressive for its price bracket, at a crucial time for Motorola given the competition. It even has a headphone jack!

Motorola (or rather Lenovo) has done it again: the G7 Plus continues the G series tradition of offering some very decent specs and features at a very low price. If you don't want to go above £300 for your next smartphone buy, then the Moto G7 Plus is an excellent choice.

The Moto G7 Plus is a great phone and a solid choice with change to spare from £300. You're unlikely to be disappointed if you go this way.

With an improved camera, design and hardware the Moto G7 Plus is one of the best sub-£300 smartphones available. It may not be a giant leap forward, but it is easy to recommend to buyers on a budget. But if you only have very basic needs then the Moto G7 Power could be a better, even more affordable, option.

Talk about evolution: the Moto G7 Plus is Motorola at the top of its game, delivering true on an affordable, well-designed and capable handset with very little to complain about. Excess auto-brightness and strong competition from Honor are its main issues in a handset that, otherwise, is easily recommendable as one of the best affordable devices on the market.

Overall, Moto is not doing anything extraordinary, but it does not need to: the new Moto phones are an evolution in terms of design with thinner bezels and more stylish looks, they are faster with the Snapdragon 6xx series of chips, and they work reliably, with a clean and likeable interface.

Moto has listened to some of last year’s snagging points and improved on them. That doesn’t mean there’s probably enough here to tempt G6 Plus owners to upgrade, but for anyone else looking for an affordable handset that shrugs off the majority of budget expectations, the Moto G7 Plus is a very safe bet indeed.

Instead of cramming everything in a single package like the first Moto Gs, Motorola has now taken a more diversified approach by launching four models for the masses each offering something the others don't. It's up to you to pick the right one for you.

The Moto G7 Plus’ price point puts it at the top end of the affordable market. But from what I’ve seen so far, the increased investment will be worth it for anyone who regularly takes photos on their phone on nights out thanks to the inclusion of an upgraded main sensor and OIS.

Model: The Motorola Moto G series has been their defining series. In this series, performance meets good design and screen. The Motorola Moto G7 Plus is the most expensive in this range with fairly higher specs options. It features a large 6.2-inch IPS LCD with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,270 pixels bringing the pixel density to 405 PPI. The screen may not be OLED but it certainly offers great contrast and high brightness. Images are clear and crisp on this mid-range LCD. The tear-notch display doesn’t look like it is needed especially since Motorola had the space to include a Motorola logo at the bottom of the screen. Anyways, the built quality seems to be on the expensive side. It looks and feels like a premium device. On the inside, it features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 636 processor paired with 4 GB or RAM and 64 GB of storage. On paper, this doesn’t seem as good as what Huawei, Honor and even Xiaomi can offer in their mid-range devices. However, for such a good performing phone, this specs might be good enough. The rear camera is a 16 MP f/1.7 shooter coupled with a 5 MP depth sensor for better portrait images. On the front is a single 12 MP camera. Both cameras can shoot videos at 4K resolution.
The phone features a stereo speaker setup with an earphone jack for audio playback over headphones. Many have forgotten about the importance of this port. There is also NFC and the G7 Plus comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and a rear mounted fingerprint scanner. Powering all this a rather small 3,000 mAh battery capable of Fast Charging via the USB Type-C port. The phone is available in Deep Indigo and Viva red colors. The Motorola G7 Plus is a solid mid-range phone. However, due to the latest development in this price range, there are just too many options to choose from now. Honor, Xiaomi, Lenovo and even Vivo make great phones at a lower price albeit cutting more corners to reach it. The G7 Plus also has to fight the latest camera champ, the Google Pixel 3a, which technically, is in the same category. Its price might be a little bit over the budget but there is so much the Pixel 3a can give with its specs. The G7 Plus is a great choice for those who are looking for an affordable phone with a perfect mid-range setup. It checks all the boxes without leaving a hole in the pocket.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.

The original company Motorola Inc was split up in 2011. Motorola Mobility got the smartphone division and was taken over by Google in 2012 and Lenovo in 2014.
The company is known for its cell phones and other electronic devices such as smartwatches, tablets and accessories.
