Reviews for the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is another affordable mid-range smartphone model from the Chinese electronics manufacturer. The showpiece of the 160-Euro smartphone (~$183; starting at $180 in the US) is the built-in IPS panel that does not need to hide even from the smartphone high-end. In our test, the newest product of the Redmi series convinces not only with its display.

With a big, bright screen, capable camera and very strong battery life, the Redmi Note 6 Pro makes a great impression - even with poor software, no NFC and an outdated micro USB port. Xiaomi's debut UK budget device is a barnstormer.

It offers great value, with a fantastic camera and reliable overall performance, but Xiaomi missed a trick or two to make the latest iteration more appealing. It’s still a fine buy for most users and will likely sell well based on the Xiaomi name.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro is only a progressive, and a tad underwhelming, update to the Redmi Note 5 Pro but if you’re looking for an affordable smartphone with a good set of cameras and powerful innards, the Redmi Note 6 Pro will be one of the top options on the table.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro launches at an odd time. With 2018 smartphone launch season behind us, the handset has launched when other OEMs will soon unveil their 2019 mid-range devices with faster chipsets, improved design, and camera. The Redmi Note 6 Pro is definitely going to lose to them in the design, build quality, and performance department. But in the camera department, the Redmi Note 6 Pro is going to give them a run for their money.

The Redmi Note 6 pro is a capable smartphone with quad cameras, a big screen and good resolution. With a price tag of Rs 13,999 for the 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage, the phone is worth your penny and is certainly the most efficient smartphone in its category. It’s a modern-day device designed for multimedia enthusiasts but lacks the overall dynamism and looks identical to the Redmi Note 5. However, with high performance that ticks almost all the right boxes, Note 6 pro is a considerable option.

Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro delivers near excellent camera, performance and battery life. I really liked the new compact design. If you’re still holding on to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, then an upgrade isn’t necessary. But if you’re looking for a good budget phone under Rs 15,000, Redmi Note 6 Pro is definitely worth considering.

Honestly, it does feel like I’m reviewing the same phone again. Redmi Note 6 Pro is certainly not for those who have the Redmi Note 5 Pro, which remains a capable phone. Xiaomi is offering this for those users who are still on older Redmi Note 3, 4, or even those on Redmi 5, 5A, and are looking to upgrade.

So should you be getting a Redmi Note 6 Pro? The phone starts at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB/ 64 GB edition and well, if you are looking at the best phone out there for under Rs 15,000, the answer is a no-brainer. It is not as if there are no alternatives – the Motorola One Power, the Nokia 6.1 Plus, the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M1 (and its soon to arrive successor, the M2) are all contenders as is Xiaomi’s own Mi A2, but none of them bring the balanced blend of features to the phone table that the Note 6 Pro does. For, the device ticks off most boxes that really matter and barring its relatively plain design has no weak point.

I think this is one of the best smartphones you can buy under Rs 20,000. The fact that it costs just Rs 13,999 makes it an even better deal. It is also a phone that you should pick if you want to get the best camera performance from a smartphone under Rs 20,000.

The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro, despite being a reliable device, isn't the best smartphone in the mid-range segment anymore. Xiaomi frankly borrowed a leaf out of OnePlus' book and refined the popular Redmi Note 5 Pro, and didn't really upgrade it. And in the mid-range segment where loyalties shit with a bump in megapixels or RAM, the Redmi Note 6 Pro could be threatened by other, more powerful devices in that category. Read on to find out why.

If you are looking for a device for gaming at this price, I’d suggest you look at the Honor 8X or the Realme 2 Pro. Even the Mi A2 could be considered since it is cheaper now. But for everything else, the Note 6 Pro definitely has you covered. The display is great, the battery life stellar and MIUI 10 is brilliantly optimised for everyday use.

Those who had already bought / using the Redmi Note 5 Pro, may not want to upgrade but there is no doubt that the Redmi Note 5 Pro is still the best handset for the price out there, and no doubt the Redmi Note 6 Pro will also be at par.

The Redmi Note 6 Pro isn’t really a ground-breaking device. Think of it as the natural evolution of the Redmi Note 5 Pro. There are refinements all around and a few changes to catch up with current trends. While we wish that the company got a bit more aggressive about bringing the fight to their competitors, Xiaomi knows that their bread and butter is through value pricing. At Rs. 13,999, it is easy to overlook the minor quibbles and the Redmi Note 6 Pro continues to offer exceptional value for money. It will go on sale starting from tomorrow across Flipkart, Mi.com and Mi Home.

First Impression: As of not price of Redmi Note 6Pro has not been revealed but it is expected to be around Rs 17,000. So, in the said price bracket it will face a tough challenge from none other than Poco F1. The device feels solid but without any refreshing design change. The battery is a plus point along with the optics. Stay tuned for our detailed review to make an informed choice before pressing the buy button.

Model: The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is the first Redmi phone with a front facing dual camera. It offers amazing photo quality and perfectly lit selfies with its dual camera setup and 4-in-1 Super Pixel. It measures 157.91 x 76.38 x 8.26 mm (height x width x thickness). The Redmi Note 6 Pro is available in four color variants which are black, red, blue, and rose gold. The 12 + 5 MP dual camera features massive 1.4 μm pixels that capture more light, producing brilliant photos in low light. Dual Pixel autofocus enhances high-quality picture while drastically improving focus speeds. The rear dual camera AI is capable of detecting 27 types of scenes instantly. The camera can capture brilliant photos intelligently. It is capable of adding 6 different kinds of lens flare effects to give the photos a dream-like quality. The 19:9 Full-Screen Display naturally curves into the phone to provide a wide view that fits perfectly in hand. It is a Full HD+ IPS LCD display with an aspect ratio of 19:9. It is protected by a Gorilla Glass and has a pixel density of 403 PPI. The Note 6 Pro features a fingerprint scanner on the back. It's always-on, very fast and accurate. Users can also set up face unlock in addition to fingerprint unlock.
The Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro is powered by a Qualcomm SDM636 Snapdragon 636 CPU processor with 64 GB, 4/6 GB RAM or 32 GB, 3 GB RAM. The 14 nm manufacturing process makes the silicon quite power-efficient and it keeps it cool under peak load. For game rendering, it has Adreno 509 GPU to take care of graphics. Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro has a P2i Nano coating for liquid repellent. It provides protection spanning from humidity and weather, to splashes and spills and even accidental submersion. As for the battery, it packs in a non-removable Li-Po 4,000 mAh battery at 8.2 mm device thickness, running on Android 8.1 (Oreo). The 4,000 mAh high-density battery stays charged longer so a user won't need to keep charging. It supports regular 5V/2A charging, which restores about 28% of the battery in 30 minutes. Other specifications include dual 4G VoLTE and Bluetooth 5. Xiaomi is known for their aggressive price with a great specification, and it is no exception with the Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro. It has a great display, snappy performance, excellent battery life, and great camera experience. All these come at a low price tag, which is suitable for users on a budget but still wants decent hardware specifications that can last at least a year or two.

Qualcomm Adreno 509: Integrated graphics card in the Snapdragon 636 SoC based on the Adreno 500 architecture. Most likely featuring a slightly higher core clock compared to the Adreno 508.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

It is a small display format for smartphones. You shouldn't be severely defective in vision, and you won't see much detail on the screen and only have a small resolution available. For that, the device should be small and handy, easy to transport.
