Reviews for the Motorola Moto G37 Power
Source: NDTV Gadgets

Coming in at a starting price of Rs. 15,999, I was happy to find that the Moto G37 Power still offers great value for its price. While Motorola had to take a few cost-saving measures, like the missing ultrawide camera on its predecessor, it remains true to its high-value, low-cost nature. The long battery life, which is more than enough for even power users, really helps it stand out in a crowded space and even gives more expensive phones a decent challenge. But the Moto G37 Power is certainly not for people looking to capture professional-looking photos or videos with their phones or for competitive gaming. Rather, you would want to buy the Moto G37 Power if you are looking for a near-clean Android experience, decent performance, and a no-nonsense handset under Rs. 20,000. I recommend increasing your budget and checking out the OnePlus Nord CE 6 Lite or the Infinix Note 60 Pro, which offer a more well-rounded user experience.

The Moto G37 Power is an ideal smartphone for those seeking a solid battery endurance, a comfortable in-hand feel, and a manageable level of performance for daily use. While the stereo speaker setup helps deliver an enjoyable media experience, the HD+ resolution display may not offer as crisp details as a 1080p panel. On the other hand, you may want to skip the Moto G37 Power if long-term software updates are important to you, or if you prefer a phone that captures vibrant and punchy images.

The Moto G37 Power keeps up with the competition, courtesy of the MediaTek Dimensity 6400 chipset, which is a slightly advanced version of the Dimensity 6300 powering the Realme C83 and OPPO K14x under Rs 16,000. The software is not only well optimised to deliver sufficient performance for daily use, but also gains a few new additions compared to the previous Motorola releases, such as Live Updates, a host of lockscreen customisability, and a new notification panel. Coming to the star of the show, the 7,000mAh battery delivers exceptional battery life in moderate use, including camera use and gaming, while the hefty weight is somewhat offset by the soothing vegan leather back, which aids in delivering a comfortable grip.

The Motorola G37 Power feels like a phone built around practicality rather than gimmicks, and honestly, that works strongly in its favour. Instead of focusing on a single main feature, Motorola has tried to build a balanced device that performs reliably across the most important areas. You get excellent battery life, stable performance, good durability, clean software, stereo speakers and a surprisingly polished overall experience for the price. The phone is not perfect, of course. The LCD display, while okay, isn’t the brightest or sharpest in the segment. The low-light camera performance could have been better, and the phone still carries some weight because of the massive battery.

The Motorola G37 Power is built like a companion for real life, not just a coffee table gadget. It comes with a glass front protected by Gorilla Glass 7i, a plastic frame, and a soft silicone polymer (eco-leather) back, so it feels good in hand and resists everyday scuffs. It is IP64 water resistant (splash proof, not submersible) and even meets MIL-STD 810H military standards for drops and bumps. The 6.67-inch IPS LCD screen runs at a smooth 120Hz, which makes scrolling and gaming feel fluid, and it can hit 1050 nits of peak brightness bright enough for outdoor use. The resolution is 720 x 1604 pixels, so it is not super sharp (around 264 ppi), but for most daily tasks like watching videos or browsing social media, it is perfectly fine.
