Almost certainly not. The Moto G87 is another so-so affordable phone from a company that seems to have become distracted by its quest for flagships and foldables. However, a significant price hike means that the G87 has drifted into far more competitive waters, and it’s simply found wanting against punchier and more premium-feeling opposition.

Reviewing the Motorola Moto G87, a budget-friendly mid-range smartphone boasting a 200MP main camera and full IP68 water and dust resistance vs the Moto G77. I've been testing the Motorola G87 to see how the gaming chops, battery life, camera tech etc handle real life. As far as specs go, this mid-ranger seems to be very similar to the G77.

The Motorola Moto G87 is announced for late April 2026 and hits shelves in mid-May. It is a big phone 6.78 inches tall and surprisingly slim at just 7.3mm thick, weighing 183 grams. That is light for a phone with a large screen. The front has tough Gorilla Glass 7i, the frame is plastic, and the back uses a silicone polymer (eco-leather) finish, which feels soft and premium. It is also seriously durable IP68/IP69 rated, meaning it can survive dust, being dunked in 1.5m of water for 30 minutes, and even high pressure water jets. Plus, it meets MIL-STD-810H military standards for drops and temperature changes. You get two SIM options (Nano-SIM + eSIM or dual Nano-SIM), and it supports 2G through 5G networks so it is future proof for fast speeds. The display is a stunning 6.78-inch AMOLED with 1 billion colors, a smooth 120Hz refresh rate, and an eye-popping 5000 nits peak brightness great for sunlight reading. The resolution is 1272 x 2772 pixels, sharp at about 450 pixels per inch.

ARM Mali-G57 MP2: Integrated mid range graphics card with 2 clusters. Based on the Valhall architecture.
Only some 3D games with very low demands are playable with these cards.

One has two ARM Cortex-A76 performance cores with up to 2.5 GHz each, while the other has six ARM Cortex-A55 energy-saving cores with up to 2.0 GHz each. LPDDR4x RAM with 2,133 MHz can be used as RAM and UFS 2.2 is supported as internal memory.
