The Moto G84 is Motorola's current top-of-the-range mid-range series, which achieved good marks in our test thanks to its bright OLED screen, flexible camera system and large amount of storage. We have summarized our findings for you.

This year, Motorola has put more work into looking after its mid-range series "Moto G" by bringing out the Motorola Moto G54, for example — a great phone with a low price. The Motorola Moto G84 also did great in our detailed test: The slightly more expensive mid-range phone costs under US$350 while still offering a whole load of features.

Within this price range, it is rare to see 256 GB UFS 2.2 flash, and the phone's decent camera system with a wide-angle lens and 60-fps videos is an added bonus. Adding to this are very precise location services that barely deviated from our actual route during our test bike trip.

The absolute highlight of this phone is its super-bright OLED screen which has an enhanced Full HD resolution and a refresh rate of 120 Hz, meaning it can display content nice and smoothly. Its color accuracy is good, too — as long as you choose the right setting. The phone can even display HDR content, although Motorola hasn't given the phone an official certification.

You can currently get the Motorola Moto G84 for around US$320 at online retailers such as Amazon.

Unfortunately, we have some mixed feelings about the Moto G84's sound system: At maximum volume, professionally mixed pop music had such exaggerated highs at times that it almost physically hurt us to listen to it. These extreme highs pierced their way through our ears. Even with the noise turned down slightly, the speakers didn't sound too impressive. At least we feel spoiled by all the wireless audio codecs which the Motorola phone supports — plus, these also enable HiRes audio via wireless headphones or speakers.

We unearthed quite a few more advantages and disadvantages of this phone, which you can read about in our detailed review. There, you can also find a variety of result tables, screenshots and graphics which illustrate our findings.
