Nubia has officially announced the Red Magic 3 gaming smartphone in China. The Red Magic 3 offers a very impressive spec sheet and is also one of the first phones to feature a controllable fan for active cooling of the SoC. Other highlights include a 90 Hz AMOLED screen, programmable trigger buttons on the body, and an IP55 rating for dust and water resistance.

The Atomic Pi is an affordable Raspberry Pi alternative equipped with an Intel Atom Cherry Trail processor, 2 GB RAM and 16 GB of eMMC flash storage. The developer board has numerous expansion connectors, ports and sensors too. The Atomic Pi costs just US$35.

Redmi has finally revealed the selfie camera solution for the upcoming Redmi 855 flagship smartphone. The company has opted to go for a pop-up camera, regardless of the general manager’s insistence that the brand would not be utilizing this method. Apparently the phone will also come with a 4000 mAh battery and support for 18 W fast charging.

An eagle-eyed Redditor spotted GPD's latest upcoming mini-laptop at the ICEE in Moscow, called the Pocket 2 Max. The 8.9-inch laptop will arrive in Q2-Q3 and will come with a Core m3-8100Y processor along with up to 16 GB RAM and a 1 TB PCIe NVMe SSD. It even has a trackpad and a fingerprint scanner too.

Some users of Android smartwatches have complained that Google Maps fails to show any information following its newest updates. It’s been reported that Dell’s powerful Alienware Area-51m gaming laptops will not be receiving panel upgrades to 240 Hz in 2019. Motorola has just released the kernel source code for Android 9 Pie for the Moto G6 Play. This release should make it much easier for modders and developers to create Android Pie-based custom ROMs for the handset, extending its life a bit. Motorola is one of the few companies left that still routinely releases source code for its handsets.

A law firm has filed a suit against Epic Games on behalf of its client, a musician who believes his trademark appearance and moves have been stolen in order to build one of the Emotes found in the game Fortnite. These Emotes are Battle Royale features that often require micro-transactions in order to be enabled.

The OnePlus 5 and 5T have been updated to OxygenOS 9.0.5, a software update that raises the 2017 flagships' security patch level to April 2019. It also addresses some problems with calls in third-party apps reported by users. This update also makes the first-party phone app more stable.

The latest OPPO smartphones use OZO, a form of audio capture developed by Nokia. This claim can reportedly be found in the latter's first-quarter financial report for 2019. The rest of this report apparently makes for less intriguing reading.

Nintendo's latest earnings report covers the years ending March 2018 and 2019. They show generally positive results, including a 13.7% year-on-year increase in net sales. The text of this report also states that the release of Pokemon Shield, Pokemon Sword and the Link's Awakening remake are indeed set for this year.

Biostar and ASRock have teased their respective X570 motherboard launches for the upcoming AMD Zen 2 Ryzen 3000 lineup. A list of purported Comet Lake CPUs has surfaced online and in addition to the U-series, we are getting to see a new G-series as well. The target segment of Comet Lake G is still unclear, but Intel is introducing a 6C/12T part in the U-series that is expected to succeed the current Whiskey Lake-U generation. The base clocks seem to be low but there is good turbo boost potential with Intel even indicating the attainable boosts based on core counts.

Radeon driver code for Navi has been spotted that appears to confirm the upcoming graphics solution from AMD will be based on the Graphics Core Next (GCN) microarchitecture. There was still some speculation that Navi might feature next-generation architecture that had been mentioned on AMD’s graphics roadmap but that seems highly unlikely now.

Six apps from Chinese developer DO Global have been found to secretly collect user data and send it to Chinese servers. While these apps have now been removed, this issue has once again turned a spotlight on a serious privacy problem that continues to plague the Google Play Store: unwarranted app permissions.

Intel has made its earnings report for the first quarter of this financial year (Q1FY2019) available to the public. In it, overall revenue is described as "flat" compared to Q1FY2018. Its "data" business has declined by 5% in the same terms, although its "PC-centric" revenues are up 4%.

A record for a processor that utilizes the Glacier Falls platform has been spotted in SiSoftware’s Sandra database. “Glacier Falls PCH” was mentioned in a leaked Gigabyte presentation slide in December and was categorized as “Extreme” with availability starting in Q3 2019. The High End Desktop (HEDT) processor in this particular case could be a member of the upcoming Cascade Lake-X series.

After running a successful Indiegogo campaign, Chuwi will be selling its Aerobook at a reduced price on April 29th and 30th. The Aerobook features an Intel Core m3-6Y30 (the same CPU used in the 2016 12-inch MacBook), 8 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD.

China Unicom has deployed a 5G network in an area of Shenzhen called the Qianhai-Shekou Free Trade Zone. This makes China one of only 3 countries with the new generation of wireless networks. The carrier is now planning exhibitions of 5G applications in the Zone.

The A9 was added to OPPO's store without an official announcement, and the store page does not even reveal the full specs. OPPO most likely used the MediaTek Helio P70 SoC to power the A9 and added 6 GB of RAM plus 128 GB of storage. Also included are a large 6.53-inch FHD+ IPS screen and a 4,020 mAh battery, together with a 16 MP selfie cam and a 16 MP + 2 MP dual-cam on the back.
