Reviews for the Lenovo Yoga Book C930 YB-J912F
The new Yoga Book has an E-Ink display instead of a keyboard and can be considered a combination of a laptop, a tablet and an e-reader. On top of that, you can also digitalize text and drawings with this all-rounder. The device is based on its predecessor from 2016 but offers many changes and improvements. For instance, it provides better performance. On the other hand, it has also dropped at least one feature. Is the 2018 Yoga Book worth twice the price of the old version? Find out in our detailed review.

The Yoga Book C930 comes tantalizingly close to being a great laptop, but sadly it falls short. There’s a whole lot to love about the device, from its thin and light design, gorgeous main screen and innovative E Ink secondary screen.

Overall it's a fancy-but-fluffy laptop take. If its ultra-thin-and-light style is your main demand, then go ahead. But you can otherwise find a more satisfying alternative at the same price, among the most normal-looking style crowd.

The clamshell chassis stands in stark contrast with the legions of tablet-like devices that get only thicker and heavier after you add the keyboard. Clamshells also give users much more control over the orientation of the display.

In the space right now, the Lenovo Yoga Book C930 is unlike anything else, which – combined with its pricey cost – can make it a tough sell over other comparable models. Take for instance the Microsoft Surface Pro 6 that starts at $899 sans keyboard (+$129.99 for the keyboard). The Surface Pro 6 offers the better 8th-generation Intel Core i5 processor. However, the Yoga Book C930 is an option worth considering because it bridges the tablet and mobile laptop experiences together – just as long as you have some patience in learning and acquiring a taste for its keyboard.

In fact, this assumes so much on the entrance of app and file compatibility. All instructed, the Yoga Guide’s Create Pad and Halo Keyboard are wowing instruments that separate this pill from nearly all of 2-in-1 gadgets. Much more so, they stand to see Lenovo spur yet one more normal in dual-purpose computing gadgets. However earlier than we get forward of ourselves, let’s see how this factor stacks up in opposition to among the main tablets, and what it’s like to make use of as a productiveness machine.

The Lenovo Yoga Book C930 is a futuristic 2-in-1 convertible laptop, with a conventional screen paired with an e-ink display that you use for both writing and typing.

The Yoga Book C930 is an engineering marvel, and swapping its keys for an e-ink display is groundbreaking. But the addition of a drawing pad and (limited) e-reader functionality don’t necessarily make up for a weaker typing experience. If you can touch type on a tablet already, then go for it, but everyone else should try before you buy. Stodgy performance and a high price might deter road warriors looking for a performance machine, too.

I admit it: I really want to like the Yoga Book C930. I like that Lenovo is not only willing to take a chance on a weird design, but also to iterate on it and make it better. Just considering the device as a physical object and even as a concept, I love it.

The new Yoga Book C930 is yet another interesting concept of what the laptop of the future could look like. While many skeptics might disagree, just look at what happened to the physical keyboards on phones. There’s going to be a definite learning curve at first, but on the upside, wouldn’t it be great if your laptop keyboard could autocorrect your typing or even predict the next word? The price for a glimpse in to the future isn’t cheap. The You Book C930 starts at €999 (approximately Rs. 80,000), which makes it more of a premium offering than its predecessor.

The Yoga C930 doesn’t appear to be a significant update on the, admittedly still excellent, Yoga 920, but the changes that Lenovo has made are positive nonetheless. The minor hardware refresh puts it on a par with competing laptops such as the Dell XPS 15 2-in-1, and I’ll be super-keen to see how its Dolby upgrades perform with proper testing.

We love the Lenovo Yoga Book for its boldness; it does things differently and we respect that. That said, the 2018 Yoga Book ramps things up in many departments, with USB-C, a proper Intel Core i processor, better screen, knock-to-open feature and more. It's a step up, although it still feels like a laptop with one half in the future and the other in the past.

Model: The Lenovo Yoga Book C930 YB-J912F is an innovative 2-in-1 laptop which is ultrathin and ultralight. It features a rich menu of innovative features and is sleek and stylish in design. Lenovo claimed that they have engineered every component of the Yoga C930 2-in-1 to make the user experience better. Designed to be equally stylish in every mode, the Yoga C930 is crafted from premium aluminum with high-precision drills and polished twice for a luxurious feel. As for color options, users can choose from Mica or Iron Gray. The Yoga C930 offers an Intel Core i5-7Y54 processor, Intel’s fastest 15 W mobile processor engineered for powerful responsiveness and speed in a razor-thin convertible. Paired with 4 GB DDR3 RAM, a 256 GB SSD and an Intel HD Graphics 615, it is a mid-range configuration that can get most tasks done. The audio system is the highlight of the model, which is not common on a laptop. Working hand in hand with Dolby, Lenovo created the industry’s first speakers that fit into a convertible hinge for powerfully immersive sound in every mode. Dolby Atmos delivers breathtaking, three-dimensional audio that flows above and around with depth and precision. Combined with two sets of speakers featuring powerful down-firing woofers, custom tweeters, and unique vibration buffers that reduce unwanted noise, audio will sound bigger, deeper and more accurate.
To complement with the audio system, it has a 10.8-inch 16:9 IPS display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,660 pixels and a pixel density of 283 PPI. With the ultra-vivid imaging of Dolby Vision, users can experience brighter brights, blacker blacks, and colors never before seen on standard displays, e.g. the true red of an English double-decker bus, or the sharp blue of a summer sky. The company has heard from customers that keeping track of a digital pen can be a pain. The Yoga C930 ensures users will be able to capture thoughts the moment they occur with a Garaged Pen that fits right into the chassis. Better yet, it charges in its compartment. Furthermore, for users who wonder if their camera is truly off or if the people on their conference call have seen them in their pajamas, the Yoga Book C930 has a solution. With the Yoga C930’s convenient TrueBlock Privacy Shutter, simply slide it open when ready to stream, and push it back into place when done. As a conclusion, the Lenovo Yoga Book C930 is a laptop with interesting features. The Yoga Book C930 is an option worth considering because it bridges tablet and mobile laptop experiences together. It is a laptop suitable for more adventurous users who like to explore new ways of entertainment.

This is a standard display format for tablet computers or small convertibles. You see more on the screen than on a smartphone but you can't use big resolutions well. On the other hand, mobility is not a problem.
» To find out how fine a display is, see our DPI List.Lenovo: Lenovo ("Le" from English legend, novo (Latin) for new) was founded in 1984 as a Chinese computer trading company. As of 2004, the company was the largest laptop manufacturer in China and, after acquiring IBM's PC division in 2005, the fourth largest in the world. In addition to desktops and notebooks, the company manufactures monitors, projectors, servers, etc, and specializes in developing, manufacturing and marketing consumer electronics, personal computers, software, enterprise solutions and related services.
In 2016, the company ranked first in the world in computer sales. It still held it in 2023 with about 23% global market share. Important product lines are Thinkpad, Legion and Ideapad.
In 2011, it acquired a majority stake in Medion AG, a European computer hardware manufacturer. In 2014, Motorola Mobility was purchased, which gave Lenovo a boost in the smartphone market.
72.97%: This rating is poor. More than three quarters of the models are rated better. That is rather not a purchase recommendation. Even if verbal ratings in this area do not sound that bad ("sufficient" or "satisfactory"), they are usually euphemisms that disguise a classification as a below-average laptop.
