P Smart Z renders leaked: Huawei's first smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera
The ever-reliable Evan Blass, better known as EVLeaks, has published renders of Huawei's next midrange smartphone, the P Smart Z. The device, which will be sold as the P Smart Pro in certain countries, looks set to be the first Huawei smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera. This is a rather surprising move considering that other OEMs like Vivo and Oppo have reserved this technology for their flagship smartphones. The P Smart Z will also feature the following hardware according to Mobielkopen:
- 6.50-inch 2,340 x 1,080 display (FHD+, 391 PPI)
- HiSilicon Kirin 710 SoC
- ARM Mali-G51 MP4 GPU
- 4 GB dual-channel LPDDR4 RAM
- 64 GB storage
- up to 512 GB expandable storage
- LTE Cat 12
- 4,000 mAh battery
- 16 MP f/2.0 aperture front-facing camera
- Dual 16 MP f/1.8 & 2 MP f/2.4 rear-facing camera
Mobielkopen also reports that the device will have a headphone jack, while the renders also show that it has a conventional fingerprint sensor mounted on its back case. The P Smart Z reportedly measures 163.5 x 7.3 x 8.9 mm and weighs 197 g. We have no information on when Huawei will announce the device, but Mobile World Congress (MWC) Shanghai is only 2 months away, so we could see more there. Mobielkopen expects that the P Smart Z, or P Smart Pro, will retail for €210 (~ US$234).
