Reviews for the Honor 10 Lite
The Honor 10 Lite looks almost exactly like the Huawei P Smart 2019. There are hardly any differences in the specifications either, and even the price is the same. We clarify in our review whether the only improvement users of the Honor 10 Lite can really expect is a better selfie camera.

While it looks a lot like its more expensive stablemates, the Honor 10 Lite is cut-down in almost every regard, from build quality to power. Even so, at $155 it’s amazing value for money and the average user isn’t going to notice the entry-level processor. Of course, Google and Huawei’s ongoing issues might be worth keeping in mind before a purchase, but ultimately, the Honor 10 Lite shows yet again that the Chinese firm is a real expert when it comes to creating amazing hardware – even in the budget sector of the market.

Under ₹20,000 the Honor 10 lite has features that are value for money and is easily the best looking phone out there in that range. Also, with Android 9.0 out of the box and 6GB of RAM, it can hold its own on high-end games and one should definitely consider the 10 Lite if they are a bit tight on budget.

The HONOR 10 Lite is a great new smartphone that is worth every single penny that you pay for it. It is more than capable as an everyday device, if you are simply looking for something for your communications, web browsing and social media needs. With the value it packs at such a price point, it’s hard to not recommend this device to anyone who’s looking for something under $300.

Is the $250 Honor 10 Lite worth it? Yes, for a mid-range Android phone with almost premium specs. If only the RAM was higher, then may the Honor phone may perform faster. We like the large form factor as it is ideal for watching videos. Charging is not as fast because of the mini USB so cross your fingers the next-gen Honor phone will use USB C.

The Honor 10 Lite offers solid performance, a good selfie camera, and Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box in the midrange segment. The Honor 10 Lite has an edge over its competitors with its glass-like design, Android 9 Pie with EMUI based features, and a battery that runs well. At this price, the Honor 10 Lite is a recommended buy. Consider other options if you want 4K and slow-motion video recording.

Sadly, Honor also missed quite a few boxes on the phone. Never mind the plastic body or the notch, but the aggressive app killing and slow charging over micro USB could be a deal breaker for those who rely on their phones for everything. In light of those flaws, the Honor 10 Lite might be a hard sell, especially when the Honor 8X isn’t that far away when it comes to price.

It performed fair on our test but at its price point, it lacks on performance and battery life aspect. You can get the same specs at 3/4s of its price. But it has lots of storage for the price, a decent camera, and undeniably classy design. The Honor 10 Lite is priced at PHP 10,550.00 for the 4GB + 64GB model, PHP 12,795.00 for the 6GB + 64GB, and PHP 14,300.00 for the 6GB + 128GB. Honor 10 Lite will be launched on Jan 22 and available from Honor roadshow in SM North EDSA on Jan 26.

Priced between rupees 13,999 rupees (~ $200) and 17,999 rupees (~$250) for the 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM variants, the Honor 10 Lite doesn’t quite earn our sure-shot recommendation. The phone doesn’t have much more than looks going for it. With both Realme and Redmi expected to launch aggressive competitors, prospective buyers should have ample options in the coming weeks.

Priced at Rs 13,999 for the base model with 4GB RAM, the Honor 10 Lite is primarily a camera phone with strengths across areas. Though its design is inspired from yesteryear’s smartphones, it does not look dated. For that matter, the gradient design looks plush and the phone’s dewdrop notch adds to the overall aesthetics. Overall, the phone is a capable midrange device, competing against other all-rounders in the same segment such as the Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Realme 2 Pro, Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro and Nokia 6.1 Plus.

Besides the fact that it’s literally light, the Honor 10 Lite didn’t feel like a major downgrade from the Honor 10. It may not have a USB Type-C or a dedicated game mode, but its got a decent chipset, rich display, tiny notch, and quirky camera features.

If you are someone who wants an affordable smartphone that’s fast and has a great camera, Honor 10 Lite should be perfect. It looks stylish even though it has a plastic back, the performance is solid, and the battery life is impressive. All of which makes the Honor 10 Lite a good buy. Alternatively, maybe you want to look at Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro and Realme U1. Both phones are equally good for the price.

The Honor 10 Lite may have come out earlier in China, but for India, it comes just on time. With Mobile World Congress just a month away, the Honor 10 Lite is filling a critical gap in time before more innovative devices come to market. Mid-range phones have performed impressively over the past year and are set to become even more powerful in 2019.

To conclude, the Honor 10 Lite scores high points in design and display. The phone gives a distinctive look and the display delivers some good output. The performance is decent, though the camera requires some tweakings. The battery is decent but charging speed needs to be improved. That said, if you are planning to buy a new smartphone then you can consider this as an option.

But the Honor 10 Lite is not for a power user who is looking for a terribly fast and snappy phone that multitasks with ease. And this especially true for the 4GB RAM model, but you may have some luck with the 6GB RAM variant. The mid-range Kirin chipset is good enough for basic day-to-day tasks like messaging and social media browsing, but it will not be able to handle intensive workloads. For such users, the Realme 2 Pro or Redmi Note 6 Pro makes for a better alternative. And those looking for a pure Android experience should lean towards the Nokia 6.1 Plus (Review) or Motorola One Power (Review).

The lower priced variant of the Honor 10 Lite is yet another smartphone in the very competitive sub-Rs. 15,000 price segment. In order to stand out, the 10 Lite sports a glossy finish. It also is the first phone from Honor to have a dewdrop notch and to ship with Android Pie out-of-the-box.

We have no word yet about the Honor 10 Lite’s price, but since the 4GB/64GB variant is priced at Php 10.1k when converted, our guess is that the 3GB/64GB variant will be priced somewhere around the Php 9k mark. Should Honor Philippines be able to keep the price under Php 10K, the Honor 10 Lite will be one of the most affordable phones to have a Kirin 710 processor, GPU Turbo, and AIS Night Mode.

Honor has opted for a dual camera setup on the 10 Lite. It consists of a 13-megapixel primary sensor and a 2-megapixel depth sensor. The primary sensor has an f/1.8 aperture and an f/2.4 aperture for the secondary sensor. At the front, it has a 24-megapixel selfie camera with an f/2.0 aperture. Honor advertises AI capabilities for both the primary and the selfie camera which we will be testing in our full review.

The Honor 10 Lite surely seems to be a decent device in this price band. The phone features some sleek design, which surely gives a premium look and the display looks immersive. The hardware and software combination seems to be decent and the camera capabilities are yet to be tested in its full glory. As for the competition is concerned, it will face stiff competition with the likes of Asus Zenfone Max Pro M2, Realme 2 Pro and Xiaomi Redmi Note 6 Pro.

You shouldn’t buy a £199 phone and not expect there to be tradeoffs, but Honor’s software settings make the Honor 10 Lite’s issues seem far more severe at first glance. However, once you’ve spent a little time digging around in the settings and getting it set up the way you want it, then there’s really a lot to like here. The screen is big and bright, and the processor is fast enough to handle most of what you’ll throw at it on a daily basis.

We won’t have official European pricing for the device until it officially launches in the U.K., but the phone costs 799 dirham in the United Arab Emirates, about 192 euros or $217. That’s about half the cost of the Honor 10, so this could be a great option for fans of the company with a bit tighter budget.

Model: The Honor 10 Lite is an entry-level smartphone with great appearance and hardware specification for its price tag. Inspired by the beautiful color of the sky, Honor chose a youthful, energetic and natural design that fades gradually from dark to light sky blue. The Honor 10 Lite features an industry-leading dewdrop notch display. With an impressive 90%+ screen-to-body ratio, a 6.21-inch display now fits within a 5.2-inch body, allowing for better viewing experience and a more comfortable grip. At 8 mm thick and 162 g, the 10 Lite is indeed light, owing largely to its plastic body. The 24 MP front camera, combined with a 4-in-1 light fusion technology and exposure compensation technology, offers a superior selfie experience in both day and night lighting. The AI front camera recognizes eight selfie scenarios and even optimizes the background of the photo so the user always stands out. The new AI beauty algorithm can customize beauty effects based on user’s age, gender and skin tone, allowing for a stunning yet natural look. Enabled by AI technology, a stereoscopic portrait can be achieved through various photography lightings such as butterfly lighting and soft lighting.
The upgraded 13 MP + 2 MP AI dual cameras, along with a wide F/1.8 aperture lens, increases the lighting exposure by 50 percent. Using advanced semantic segmentation technology, the Honor 10 Lite can recognize the different objects and make optimal adjustment according to different scenarios. In super night shoot mode, users can take night shots in under six seconds of exposure with the anti-shake feature. As for hardware specifications, the Kirin 710 chipset and a flagship-level Cortex-A73 core reduce overall power consumption and provide smoother, seamless performance. 3 GB of RAM boost the smartphone's processing speed and 32 or 64 GB storage, which can expand to 512 GB, can eventually double-up into their very own personal hard drive. For the operating system, the new software system EMUI 9.0 is optimized with 20 % boosting. EMUI 9.0 introduces a minimalist and natural design to optimize the FullView display. Additionally, Honor's AI-enabled mobile communication technology effectively increases the quality of calls within loud and clamorous environments or even in areas with a weak phone signal. The technology also intelligently recognizes if a user has entered or left an elevator, and within three seconds the phone quickly recovers a 4G signal. Making affordable phones with good battery life, slick design and great screen quality has been Honor’s niche for a while, and the Honor 10 Lite doesn’t disappoint. The Honor 10 Lite is an ideal teenager’s smartphone because it is affordable, has a respectable camera and it looks nice. As a matter of fact, it even beats some of the higher mid-range devices in terms of specs.
