Reviews for the Huawei Y9s

While games were playable, and productivity, social media, and simple tasks were smooth, other phones in this price range outclass the Huawei Y9s in raw performance. If you’re a hardcore gamer who’s competitive, you may want to look elsewhere. That being said, if you’re looking for a phone that looks amazing, has an immersive display, a premium body, and okay cameras, then the Huawei Y9s ticks all those boxes for PHP 13,990.

Huawei is back with another value focused phone for 2019! This time it is the new Huawei Y9s. Replacing Y9 Prime 2019, the new phone features much of the same hardware but with various improvements and refinements hence the ‘s’ name. We received our unit couple of weeks back and after using it as our daily driver, here is what we think about the new release.

After the above discussion, it is evident that Huawei Y9s has some extra-ordinary features. Both the cameras exhibit good quality. All other specs are also impressive. Particularly, its design and performance. Therefore, I would speak in support of Y9s. Its a worthy smartphone to purchase.

As for the rest of the box, it comes with standard accessories that include a SIM eject tool, a clear silicon case, 10W USB Charger, USB Type-C cable and lastly 3.5mm headphones with microphone. It is important to mention here, there is a clear screen protector applied to the phone straight out of the box.

HUAWEI is asking for RM999 for the HUAWEI Y9s. That may seem slightly on the higher side of things but they are offering a free HUAWEI Band 4 to go along with the device to sweeten the deal. It’s battery life is surprisingly good too, which will make for a great secondary device. Having a notch-less display is cool, as is the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, both being somewhat of a rarity in this price segment. The only downer is its chipset and its camera performance, which are quite weak compared to the current crop of mid-range devices.

Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

There are a lot of reviews on Huawei phones with slightly above average ratings (as of 2016).
79.5%: This rating is not convincing. The laptop is evaluated below average, this is not really a recommendation for purchase.
