So based on our testing, the Huawei Y9 (2019) is more than capable of lasting an entire day without needing to recharge. Not only that, with its long-lasting battery, it is definitely a smartphone to consider if you are not keen on having all the extra bells and whistles that can be found on high-end flagship devices.

Huawei Y9 (2019) is priced Rs 15,999 and probably the cheapest device from Huawei at launch in India. Huawei Y9 (2019) has good design and looks, good performance, decent cameras, and great battery life and provides decent value for money as well. But the biggest let down for the Y9 is the lack of Android 9.0 at launch. If Huawei had provided EMUI 9.0 with Android Pie, it would have made it a great value for money offering at this price segment. The device is available in two colors, black and blue and available exclusively on Amazon.

In conclusion, the Huawei Y9 2019 performed pretty well for a mid-range smartphone that costs RM899 only. The device is definitely worth considering if you are looking for a well-balanced smartphone under RM1000.

The Huawei Y9 2019 is, by far, one of my favorite mid-range smartphones this year. Its large display provides a great viewing experience while its overall performance is just enough to be used as my daily driver (do note that I play A LOT on my phone every day). The camera capabilities, especially its Night mode feature, is impressive for its price while the battery life is above average as compared with other phones that has a large screen size.

Absolutely. Huawei’s recent forays into mid-range phones this year have undeniably been pretty value-packed, and the Y9 2019 is no exception. This beautiful smartphone packs quite a bit of punch, and its quad cameras deliver the goods. Its AI-enhanced night mode makes taking photos in low light a little less daunting, and all-in-all the Y9 2019 is an excellent mid-range phone to consider.

Huawei’s Y9 2019 is already available for pre-order in Lazada for just Php 12,990, which is quite a fair price for this particular device considering what’s on tap. Pre-order customers from now till the 15th free speaker worth Php 1490 with every order. It hits physical stores on the 16th of November.

The Huawei Y9 meets almost all of the requirements you might want in a smartphone, especially when you consider the $250 price tag. If you can live with EMUI, the Huawei Y9 is a serious alternative to the similarly priced Moto G6.

The Huawei Y9 was unveiled in March 2018 and was initially aimed at the Low Mid-Range market ($150-$250). At publishing time, the Huawei Y9 was priced at around $230 USD. This is an extremely competitive price point where there is a lot of competition, and therefore a lot of potential alternatives. Let’s see how this handset fares, here comes the full review.

Huawei Y9 2019
A new mid-range smartphone from Huawei that already competes with its own Nova 3i and can be considered as a combination of the Honor 8X and the Nova 3i. So, is it worth it? Depends on what you are looking for. Will it satisfy for your needs? I bet it will.
First of all, the performance/price ratio is very good, and that alone would make this phone advisable for purchase. But as I stated at the beginning of this article, it is a mid-range phone. So, it is okay for web surfing, streaming, social media, etc. Gaming is also okay with PUBG, Mobile Legends, Asphalt 9, but it is not the best out there, of course.
When we talk about smartphones, what matters most of the time is the camera setup. The Y9 2019 comes with a quad-camera setup. Dual front and rear lenses, so to speak. The rear camera has 16 MP and the front camera has 13 MP. If you do your research, just like anyone else would, you will find that the Honor 8X has better cameras in comparison, while the Y9 2019 comes with a better battery. On the other hand, we currently do not know if Android 8.1 on the Y9 2019 can be upgraded to Android 9.0, while the Honor 8X has the option of an update. Besides that difference, well, I can tell you the Y9 2019 comes with Bluetooth 5 and that’s about it. In China, the 128GB version comes with 6 GB of RAM, but in other countries, it will be 4 GB. The Honor 8X, on the other hand, comes with 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.
So, it almost feels like the Honor 8X is a better option compared to the Huawei Y9 2019. The latter only has a slightly bigger battery and Bluetooth 5 and that’s it. Then it comes down to the availability of services around you and haptics. Honor, the brand, may or may not have real customer services in your country. But Huawei is available by itself in almost all countries. My suggestion would be to check that. Other than that, it is all about how you feel when you hold the phone in your hands. Both are the same size, have almost the same weight (the Y9 is 2 grams lighter). If taking pictures is not your buying point, then you need to experience both devices and go with the one that you happen to feel closer to.
What would I suggest? Well, it is a hard one. Both devices are recommendable. They both would be usable on a daily basis. Yes, the 8X is a bit older, so it could be possible that it will be a bit cheaper, if not much. So, it is really up to you to make the decision.

The Huawei Y9 2019, which is priced at RM819 (initially it was RM899) performed pretty well considering the fact that you’ll be getting specs typically found on smartphones of a higher price range. In fact, it does well as a media consumption smartphone to watch movies or play games. However, I wouldn’t consider getting this phone if you’re planning on taking plenty of pictures as the camera sensors feel kind of lacking but they're ok for most shots.

The Huawei Y9 Prime 2019 is a great smartphone with a good feature set but competition in its price range is tougher than it has ever been. They’ve had to make a couple of compromises to achieve the Php 12,990 price tag but all the bits and bobs they’ve managed to cram into this mid-range device does make it worthy of consideration.

The sizeable, unobstructed display is the Y9 Prime 2019’s most significant selling point. Apart from that, you also get a great battery life, an attractive-looking smartphone, EMUI 9, and a modest performance. If that’s all you’re looking for, then definitely snag the Y9 Prime 2019 for PHP 12,990.

The Pop-up camera is fast becoming the new notch for 2019, as manufacturers look for a way to give consumers an all-screen experience. But pop-up phones usually come with a premium price tag, with most consumers having to pay more than Php 15K to experience all-screen heaven. That’s where Huawei’s Y9 Prime 2019 comes in. Armed with an all-screen display and a pop-up selfie camera, the Y9 Prime 2019 gives people an all-screen experience for less than Php 15K.

While games were playable, and productivity, social media, and simple tasks were smooth, other phones in this price range outclass the Huawei Y9s in raw performance. If you’re a hardcore gamer who’s competitive, you may want to look elsewhere. That being said, if you’re looking for a phone that looks amazing, has an immersive display, a premium body, and okay cameras, then the Huawei Y9s ticks all those boxes for PHP 13,990.

It is important to mention here, there is a clear screen protector applied to the phone straight out of the box.

HUAWEI is asking for RM999 for the HUAWEI Y9s. That may seem slightly on the higher side of things but they are offering a free HUAWEI Band 4 to go along with the device to sweeten the deal. It’s battery life is surprisingly good too, which will make for a great secondary device. Having a notch-less display is cool, as is the side-mounted fingerprint scanner, both being somewhat of a rarity in this price segment. The only downer is its chipset and its camera performance, which are quite weak compared to the current crop of mid-range devices.
