Reviews for the Samsung Galaxy M22
The Galaxy M22 is the updated version of the Galaxy M21. However, some features have been cut and the price has been significantly increased when compared to the predecessor. Is Samsung's bargain-bin smartphone not what it claims to be?

The Samsung Galaxy M22 is a wonderfully balanced smartphone that eschews raw specs in favour of a great overall user experience. It ticks almost all of the important boxes, and proves that you don’t need to break the bank for a device that can do it all.

Overall, the Galaxy M22’s cameras are impressive, and it has the ability to play esports titles at high quality settings. When you consider the price range, at P10,590, it is only 600 pesos more than the sub-10,000 entry level devicse. So, for the price, we get a Super AMOLED display rather than a FHD+ resolution. It’s a shame, but it’s nearly perfect. We can say that the Helio G80 will suffer from instability when the resolution is doubled, so opting for the Galaxy M22 is still a good choice with a slight compromise on the viewing experience. It’s also a good thing that they used the One UI core OS rather than the main OS to improve the Helio G80’s performance and process handling. It demonstrates exactly what we expected on paper. The 128GB storage and 5000mAh battery are additional features that make this phone a worthy buy.

The battery and cameras might be nice, as they don’t pressurize the processor or chipset. But, you have to limit yourself to a single storage variant. According to the screen, it’s pretty much decent, but it doesn’t have the ability to win the current market competition. Thanks to the latest Android 11, otherwise many brands offer a basic processor for the same budget. Therefore, you are quite relieved with the operation. In our verdict, it doesn’t meet the needs of many customers compared to the price, but it may be suitable for those who are obsessed with the Samsung brand value. According to our recommendation, you can try the Poco M3 Pro 5G in which you will have more features and specs.

Samsung Galaxy M22 is a brand-new mid-range smartphone from Samsung with some attractive and demanding specifications. As for its design, the phone might not attract many users due of its unique design. Firstly, the horizontal pattern design on the back panel of the phone has been on some of the earlier smartphones from the same brand. While covered with a plastic back, it offers comfort for phone operation. In addition, its quad camera has to be the most interesting thing as it has been cleverly built into the back while giving the fingerprint sensor space in the sidebar. Samsung Galaxy M22 is a light cell phone weighing 186g with the thickness of 8.4mm. Unfortunately, it lacks features like gorilla glass or dust or water resistance. The phone is available in black, white and light blue colour variants.
In terms of its display, this device has been equipped with a 6.4-inch Super AMOLED screen with a refresh rate of 90Hz on top. While this combination is definitely good, the 720p resolution takes away from the phone’s real charm. However, there is assurance of smooth-moving image quality due to its default refresh rate. Apart from that, the 600 nits of brightness will cater for a good experience while doing anything in daylight or at night. It is worth noting that Samsung is offering the latest Android 11 OS with this phone, which is great for all the tasks that can be done on a smartphone. In addition, the inclusion of One UI Core 3.1 enriches the performance level. This combination will definitely cater for the smoothness of every task. As for its processor, the 12nm MediaTek Helio G80 chipset is a highly discouraging feature for any gamer or smartphone lover. The chipset offers 2.0 GHz maximum clock speed. The processor is paired with 4GB of RAM with 128GB of storage. Apart from that, there is a Mali-G52 MC2 graphics unit for a good visual impression.
As for its camera, the Galaxy M22 comes with a quad-camera which includes a 48 MP main camera. The autofocus mode can be used to capture a sharp object easily without any frustration. In addition, it also features OIS technology which allows the users to capture stabilized images. In daylight, the photos would not be too exposed and there would be clarity. The 8 MP ultra-wide sensor and 2 MP macro and 2MP depth sensors also increase the overall image quality. There is also a 13MP selfie camera which definitely works better as compared to an 8MP camera. In terms of its battery, the Samsung Galaxy M22 comes with a large and standard Li-Po 5000mAh battery. It is undeniable that the brand has maintained its strength by providing this battery. The phone can be used to watch videos or play games for almost 6+ hours. There is also a 25W fast charger which proves to be the best companion for this model.
ARM Mali-G52 MP2: Integrated mid range graphics card with 2 clusters. ARM states that the G52 series is 30% faster and 15% more efficient compared to the G51 series on the same process node.
Non demanding games should be playable with these graphics cards.

Helio G80: ARM based octa-core SoC with 2x big ARM Cortex-A75 cores at up to 2 GHz and 6x small and power efficient ARM Cortex-A55 cores at up to 1.8 GHz. Integrates a Cat-7 (DL) / Cat-13 (UL) LTE Modem (4G), ARM Mali-G72 MP3 GPU and a ARM Mali G52 MC2 with up to 950 MHz.» Further information can be found in our Comparison of Mobile Processsors.

Only a few smartphones have larger screens.
Large display-sizes allow higher resolutions. So, details like letters are bigger. On the other hand, the power consumption is lower with small screen diagonals and the devices are smaller, more lightweight and cheaper.

Only few smartphones are more lightweight than this.
