The company has revealed that it has no plans to introduce a GTX 1660 Ti with its XPS 15 refresh, nor will it release a white version either as it has with recent XPS 13 models. The new XPS 15 will come with a GTX 1650 though, Frank Azor confirms.

Disappointing news for Dell fans looking forward to a refreshed XPS 15. Initially, the company stated in its XPS 15 announcement that "NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1650 and 1660 Ti graphics cards offer the perfect complement to 9th Gen Intel Core chips", which strongly hinted at the refreshed device having SKUs for both GPUs.

Unfortunately, the company has since confirmed that it has no plans to bring the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti to the XPS 15 and that it will equip the device with a GeForce GTX 1650 instead. Moreover, those hoping that Dell would visually liven the device up will be left disappointed too. As we previously reported, Dell has confirmed that the new XPS 15 will not come in white as recent XPS 13 models have, although there is no word yet whether the company will introduce other colours for its flagship 15-inch laptop.

We were looking forward to seeing the XPS 15 paired with an 8-core processor and a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti GPU. The latter performed strongly in our recent review and benchmarked not far below the GeForce RTX 2060. Alas, it is not to be, and Dell has made the next XPS 15 all the less enticing before it has even formally announced it.
