After running a successful Indiegogo campaign, Chuwi will be selling its Aerobook at a reduced price on April 29th and 30th. The Aerobook features an Intel Core m3-6Y30 (the same CPU used in the 2016 12-inch MacBook), 8 GB of RAM, and a 256 GB SSD.

The Chuwi Aerobook recently wrapped up a successful Indiegogo campaign, raising $286,846 from 694 backers as of April 25th. However, if you missed the promotional price for early backers (US $439), Chuwi will be selling the Aerobook for $470 on April 29th and $450 on April 30th.

As a quick refresher, the Chuwi Aerobook was billed as a cheaper alternative to Huawei’s MateBook. To that end, the specs are a step down from Huawei’s thin-and-light. The Aerobook sports 8 GB of RAM, a 256 GB SSD, and an Intel Core m3-6Y30.

The Core m3 CPU is a 6th-gen Skylake processor, which is likely how Chuwi can sell the laptop at such a low price. While not the most powerful CPU in the world, the Core m3-6Y30 can be passively cooled and has a rated boost of 2.2 GHz. For comparison, this is the same CPU that Apple used in the 2016 12-inch MacBook, which was known for its limited capabilities. The Aerobook should perform on par with the MacBook, which would make it suitable for light browsing, office work, and some content consumption. Its low power should also grant decent battery life despite the small 38 Wh battery.

Still, the Aerobook is an attractive laptop with a light magnesium-aluminum case and thin bezels. If you need a light laptop for simple office work, you may want to head over to Chuwi’s site on the 29th and/or 30th.
