Chuwi Ubook goes live on Kickstarter with up to 25% discount for early birds
Chuwi has launched its Ubook Windows 10 tablet on Kickstarter. The cheap Microsoft Surface alternative is available at a discount of 25 percent bringing down the entry price to just US$349. Anyone interested in getting their hands on one at that price will have to be quick as it is limited to just 300 units. It is equipped with a 6th-gen Intel Core m3-6Y30 chip, 8GB of LPDDR3 RAM and 128GB of M.2 SSD storage.
There are other reward tiers to access cheaper pricing should the 25 percent discount offer get sold out. These also come with the specs outlined above, but only get a 20 percent discount with 400 units at this price point. There is also a 15 percent discount tier for the same model limited to 600 units. There is also a premium model with 1TB of storage that is on offer for US$799. All come preinstalled with Windows 10 Home.
The Chuwi Ubook centers on an 11.6-inch IPS LCD display that supports a stylus capable of 1024 pressure levels. Its Surface-like kickstand has a 150-degre angle of operating, while the magnesium alloy chassis weighs in at 760 grams without the included keyboard (1kg with keyboard). It includes two high-speed USB 3.0 ports a USB-C port, microSD card slot, micro-HDMI port and a headphone jack. The 30.4Wh battery is good for around 9 hours of mixed use.
