Here's the first look at Samsung's foldable smartphone
Samsung Vietnam has spilled the beans on the new Galaxy foldable smartphone. The long-awaited device has made an appearance in a Galaxy Unpacked video on the Samsung Vietnam YouTube Channel that the company has since pulled. Naturally, the video has now made it into wild and we have embedded it here for you to take a look at yourselves.
What lends a high level of credibility to the leak is that it is very reminiscent of the device Samsung first unveiled (albeit heavily disguised) at its developer conference last year with an Infinity Flex display. The device in the video, (like the device Samsung previously unveiled) has a front facing display that allows the device to work as a standard bar-type smartphone. This can then be opened to reveal a much larger display that is otherwise folded away. The difference this time is that we are now seeing the final design in all its glory.
The theme of the leaked teaser video is all about futuristic and imagined cutting-edge technologies. Then a person walks into shot with what would otherwise also be a device from the future. Except, in this instance, the future is actually here right now. Or at least soon will be. The only downside is that the foldable Samsung Galaxy smartphone cum tablet is rumored to cost upwards of US$2000 meaning that only a select few of us will get to enjoy it.
