It is just 6 days until the Chuwi MiniBook goes live on crowdfunding website Indiegogo, but the Chinese company has lifted the lid on early availability for its early bird prices. Previously, Chuwi deleted a tweet that confirmed the pricing of its two MiniBook SKUs and has been quiet on the matter since. Now, the company has emailed subscribers in the last push to get them to part with their cash next Wednesday.
We are still expecting Chuwi to launch two models, although its recent email refers to only the Core m3-8100Y model being brought to Indiegogo. The specifications of the two models that Chuwi has already confirmed are as follows:
Model | Entry-Level | Deluxe |
---|---|---|
CPU | Intel Celeron N4100 | Intel Core m3-8100Y |
RAM | 8 GB LPDDR4 | 8 GB LPDRR3 |
Storage | 128 GB eMMC SSD | 128 GB eMMC SSD |
Other | Spare M.2 SATA SSD slot | Spare M.2 PCIe SSD slot |
Chuwi has confirmed that the deluxe model will cost US$499 for super-early bird orders. This pricing will be limited to the first 300 orders with the retail price being US$665. Do not be surprised if Chuwi offers a mid-tier early-bird price too though. According to its since-deleted tweet, the entry-level model will initially cost US$399 for early-bird backers and will rise to "US$429 or higher" after that. Going by the deluxe model pricing structure, we suspect that the entry-level model will probably eventually cost US$532.
