One-Netbook is bringing three ultra-mobile PCs (UMPC) to market this year, including the One Mix 3 and One Mix 3s. The most expensive and powerful of the three is the One Mix 3s Platinum Edition, which One-Netbook is distinguishing from its cheaper models and other UMPC competitors like Chuwi and GPD by equipping it with an Intel Core i7-8500Y processor.
The Platinum Edition also comes with 16 GB of DDR3 RAM and a 512 GB PCIe SSD along with the same 8.4-inch 2K display that One-Netbook is using in the One Mix 3 and 3s. All three models reportedly weigh 650 g too and work with the One-Netbook active pen, which supports up to 4,096 levels of pressure.
The Platinum Edition previously appeared on Chinese retailer JD.com priced at 7,999 CNY (~US$1,159), but this can only be bought in China. The convertible UMPC has since gone live on Geekbuying where it costs US$1,199.99. The retailer also sells the Platinum Edition with the One-Netbook active pen for US$1,249.99.
One-Netbook is asking a lot from consumers to expect them to part with over US$1,000 for a UMPC, but the Platinum Edition is the only one we know of that features a Core i7 Y series processor. Geekbuying will start shipping the One Mix 3s Platinum Edition and the active pen bundle on July 9.
