One-Notebook is a new Chinese company that specializes in small form-factor convertible notebooks. A few years ago, One-Notebook was launching the OneMix model powered by Intel’s Atom X5 quad-core CPU, then came the OneMix 2 models with up to M3-8100Y CPUs released in 2018. Now, the company plans to release the OneMix 2S Platinum edition with improved CPUs and storage options.
The new OneMix 2S Platinum will come with the same compact CNC magnesium-aluminum casing featured with the previous models. However, it will pack a faster 5 W Intel Core i7-8500Y dual-core CPU that can boost to 4.2 GHz. The RAM capacity is still limited to 8 GB DDR3, yet the storage solution has now been upgraded to a 512 GB NVMe SSD.
What sets the One-Notebook apart from handheld PCs coming from GPD or Smach is the possibility to flip the 7-inch 1080p IPS touchscreen 360 degrees. Users can thus enter a tablet mode that makes use of the integrated stylus pen with 2048 pressure levels.
Other features include USB-A 3.0 and USB-C ports, an audio jack, micro HDMI out, microSD card slot, dual-band WiFi + Bluetooth 4.0, a hefty 6500 mAh battery and a fingerprint scanner integrated with the qwerty keyboard. The handheld is a tad bigger than a premium smartphone and weighs only 1.1 lbs.
Those interested in pre-ordering the OnMix 2S Platinum can do so on the GeekBuying site for around US$1200.
