A few images of the Motorola Razr 2019 have been shared on the SlashLeaks website, and it seems the company behind the foldable smartphone is gearing up for upcoming promotional work. The Razr 2019 (model XT2000-1) is a highly anticipated device, especially as it has adopted a more nostalgic clamshell approach for its integral folding mechanism.
Motorola Mobility and its parent company Lenovo have a fine opportunity to make a huge splash in the foldable smartphone space. With Samsung embroiled with its Fold issues and Huawei still making us all wait for the Mate X, there is room for another OEM to steal some thunder. Response to the leaked images has been positive, and if these are genuine press renders then it’s likely the Razr 2019 could be a hit (pending Fold-like teething problems, of course).
As mentioned above, the first image has the Motorola Razr 2019 relaxing nonchalantly against its box. Yes the device has a noticeably wide notch and so do many other smartphones, so let’s ignore that feature for the moment. It also has a huge jutting chin – but that’s a pre-requisite for this particular design and it looks like Motorola has made it look more than acceptable. The box contents are spread out in the second image, while the foldable Razr teases its folding reason for being in the final image.
Rumored key specifications include a Qualcomm Snapdragon 710, 4/6 GB RAM, 64/128 GB storage, 6.18-inch AMOLED screen (1440x3040), secondary display on the exterior, 12 MP main camera, 8 MP selfie camera, and 2730 mAh battery. They are not premium flagship specifications, which means the Motorola Razr 2019 might just bring foldable smartphone technology to the masses, as long as the masses are happy with the clamshell design.
