The companies Louis Vuitton (LV) and Royole have partnered up to realize the sci-fi dreams of many that everything around them will have its own active display one day. To this end, LV has showcased its "Canvas of the Future" range at the Cruise Collection 2020 event in New York.
The forward-looking new line comprises 3 leather bags thus far. Their exterior panels are covered in Royole's patented flexible display materials, like those found in the FlexPai. This gives the accessories an extremely unique look, particularly as they can be reportedly programmed to show whatever the owner wants at the time.
This apparently includes video, meaning that one of these new LV bags could have a dynamic image just like many smartphone homescreen designs out there. Unfortunately, neither Royole or LV did not go into detail as to how these panels stay on, or how durable they may be. There are also no details as to the pricing or availability of these futuristic fashion items at present; however, given LV's typical reputation, the answer probably involves a stupid amount of money.
