A Dutch blog claims to have unearthed patents filed with the Chinese intellectual property office (SIPO) by the OEM OPPO. They show a mobile device that is clearly foldable. The documents show that the company is considering either a notch or punch-hole technology for its purported first flexible display.

MobielKopen claims to have spotted new patents for a foldable phone on SIPO's database. It has apparently been filed by OPPO, and may lend further weight to the theory that this OEM is also close to releasing its own first flexible phone.

This patent is not the first such document linked to OPPO in the past. However, it contains images that show much more up-to-date display attributes compared to these older alleged filings. These new schematics show multiple prototypes of the same basic design, which, much like the extensively-anticipated Huawei Mate X, takes a 'book-like' form.

Some of these diagrams show such a foldable phone with a notch for the 'main' screen's sensors. However, others replace this feature with single, dual or even triple punch-holes. This screen may face outwards, like that of the Mate X. The reverse side of this device (when unfolded) has circular or oval objects on opposing edges that could be sensors, or perhaps indicative of magnetic attachments.
