Intel Arc Graphics 140V

The Intel Arc Graphics 140V is a pretty fast integrated graphics adapter that higher-end Intel Lunar Lake processors employ. This is a direct successor to the Arc 8 iGPU; it has 8 Xe² architecture "cores" (codename Battlemage) running at up to 2,050 MHz and 8 ray tracing units at its disposal.

DirectX 12 Ultimate is fully supported here and the iGPU also supports hardware-decoding a long list of popular video codecs such as h.266 VVC, h.265 HEVC, h.264 AVC, AV1 and VP9. It can drive three SUHD 4320p monitors simultaneously via HDMI 2.1, eDP 1.5 and DP 2.1.

Just like it was with Meteor Lake, Intel taps its Foveros technology to build Lunar Lake chips meaning the iGPU and the CPU cores are found on different dies stacked on top of each other or next to each other.

Performance

With the 140V, all 2023 and 2024 games are playable at 1080p on low graphics settings or higher. In our September 2024 testing, we got well over 30 fps in Ghost of Tsushima and almost 40 fps in Baldur's Gate 3. This means the Radeon 780M gets left behind while the Radeon 890M reigns supreme.

Power consumption

Lunar Lake processors' power consumption figures are relatively modest at around 20 W to 30 W, with up to about a half of that getting consumed by the integrated GPU.

Intel Graphics 4-Core iGPU (Meteor / Arrow Lake)

The Intel Graphics iGPU (Device ID 8086 7D41) with 4 cores is an integrated graphics card based on the Xe LPG architecture (similar to the dedicated Arc GPUs, but with a focus on efficiency). It offers 4 Xe cores (64 Xe vector engines), 4 ray tracing units, 4 samplers and 2 pixel backends. It can be found in Meteor Lake-U CPUs (like the Core Ultra 7 165U) and Arrow Lake CPUs (like Core Ultra 7 255U or Core Ultra 9 285HX).

In contrast to the more powerful variant with 8 cores in the H Meteor Lake CPUs, the small variant is not allowed to use the Arc name.

The iGPU supports DirectX 12 Ultimate (probably DX 12_2 like the desktop Arc GPUs). The graphics unit also supports XeSS AI Super Sampling.

The media engine of Meteor Lake is in the SOC tile and supports up to 8k60 10-bit HDR encode and decode of MPEG2, AVC, VP9, HEVC and AV1. The display engine is also in the SoC tile and supports HDMI 2.1 and DisplayPort 2.1 20G with up to 8K60 HDR.

The GPU Tile of the Meteor Lake chip is manufactured at TSMC in 5nm (5N process).
