Core Ultra 5 135U performance debut: Dell Latitude 13 7350 laptop review
The Latitude 13 7350 succeeds last year's Latitude 13 7340 by introducing Meteor Lake-U options to replace the outgoing Raptor Lake-U series. Otherwise, chassis design remains the same as before and so we recommend checking out our review on the Latitude 13 7340 to learn more about the physical features of the model.
Our unit in review is a lower-end configuration with the Core Ultra 5 135U, 32 GB LPDDR5x 6400 MT/s RAM, and 1200p matte display for approximately $1700 USD. Other SKUs are available with the Core Ultra 7 165U CPU and touchscreen, but the integrated graphics and 1200p resolution are fixed across all configurations.
A convertible version of the model is also available called the Latitude 13 7350 2-in-1 which comes with an exclusive 2560 x 1600 touchscreen. It otherwise shares the same overall design and processor options as our clamshell version in review.
The Latitude 13 7350 competes against other high-end business subnotebooks like the Lenovo ThinkBook 13x, Framework Laptop 13.5, or the HP EliteBook 1040 series. This is one of the few models still shipping in a 13.3-inch form factor as 13.5- and 14-inches are becoming more common in the category.

Case — Passes MIL-STD-810H Tests
The easiest way to distinguish between the Latitude 7350 from its predecessor is to look for the Co-Pilot key on the keyboard which replaces the Ctrl key. The 2023 and 2024 models are otherwise visually identical.
Communication
Wireless has been upgraded from the Intel AX211 to the Intel BE700 for Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 5.4 support. WAN support remains optional.
Webcam
There are now 5 MP options to better match the quality of webcams as found on competing HP models. However, this is only available on certain non-touch clamshell configurations and so all touchscreen options are still limited to 2 MP webcams only.
Maintenance
The bottom panel requires only a Phillips screwdriver to service. The RAM and WLAN modules are soldered while the batteries, WAN slot, and M.2 storage slot are accessible. Keep in mind that full-length 80 mm M.2 SSDs are not supported.
Sustainability
The battery consists of 50 percent recycled cobalt while the chassis uses up to 90 percent recycled magnesium and 50 percent recycled aluminum.
Warranty
There are no extras in the box other than the AC adapter and paperwork. A three-year base warranty with next-day on-site support come standard if purchased directly from Dell.
Display — Standard 60 Hz IPS
Dell is using the same Chi Mei 133JCG panel for both the Latitude 7340 and 7350 models meaning that the visual experience has not changed for this year. While this particular offers great colors and contrast levels for an IPS screen, it's starting to feel a bit dated due to the lack of support for high refresh rates and Windows VRR. Black-white and gray-gray response times are poor as well leading to noticeable ghosting if streaming or playing games.

The display does not come pre-calibrated with color temperature being slightly too warm out of the box. Calibrating the display ourselves would improve average grayscale and color deltaE values from 3.4 to 1.1 and 3.31 to 0.8, respectively. We recommend trying our calibrated ICM profile above for free to get more out of the sRGB display.

Testing Conditions
We set both Windows and Dell Optimizer to Performance mode prior to running the benchmarks below.
Processor
The Core Ultra 5 135U offers a respectable 20 to 25 percent multi-thread performance boost over last year's Core i5-1345U in the Latitude 7340. The new Core Ultra 5 is also faster than the disappointing Core i7-1355U. Upgrading to the Core Ultra 7 165U from our base Core Ultra 5 135U configuration is expected to increase performance by another 15 percent based on our time with the Latitude 9450 2-in-1.
A key differentiating factor between the Core Ultra 5 135U and Core Ultra 5 125H is the poorer performance sustainability of the former. When running CineBench R15 xT in a loop, our U-series CPU would drop in performance by as much as 30 percent over time whereas our H-series CPU can sustain faster performance for longer.

Stress Test
Initiating Prime95 causes the CPU to spike to 3.2 GHz, 59 W, and 100 C lasting for just a few seconds before dropping to 2.1 GHz and 24 W and then finally settling at 1.8 GHz, 17 W, and 68 C. Repeating this same test on the Latitude 7330 with the older Core i7-1265U would result in warmer core temperatures despite the slower performance to show measurable performance-per-watt gains between the Intel Core generations. However, the drop from 3.2 GHz to just 1.8 GHz is steeper than we would like even for a Core U-series CPU.
GPU clock rate and temperature when running Witcher 3 would stabilize at 1900 MHz and 65 C, respectively, compared to just 1247 MHz and 83 C on the Latitude 7330. The system runs cooler than the two-year old Latitude 7330 design.
