Technology
With Tiny Tina's Wonderlands, Gearbox Software has released a particularly crazy spin-off to the popular Borderlands series. The Unreal Engine 4 is used once again here, similar to Borderlands 3, which gives a strong comic look (cel shading) with bright colors. This can somewhat make up for the rather weak textures. Other graphical aspects, such as the wide view, the effects, and the vegetation density, however, are up to date.

Bonus points can also be given for the extensive graphics menu. The API mode (DX11 or DX12), resolution and scaling, field of view, and the frame rate limit can be adjusted in the first tab (optional V-Sync). There are almost 20 detail and quality controls in the Advanced tab, which can be changed via Graphics Quality in one go and without restarting. There are six presets from Very Low to Badass. Finally, the third tab contains an integrated benchmark — Borderlands 3 sends regards!
Benchmark
As you can see from the video below, the built-in benchmark takes a bit over 1.5 minutes, which is relatively long. The benchmark shows a tracking shot through an enchanted forest and mushroom area populated by various characters. Unfortunately, the result is not displayed in the form of an evaluation but is simply found in the benchmark menu after the run. Besides the frame times, only the average FPS values are presented. For more information, you have to select the detailed report type in the Advanced menu and analyze the file saved in the Documents folder afterwards.
Results
For the benchmarks, we mainly use rental devices from our partners XMG (Schenker Technologies) and MSI.
FHD (1,920 x 1,080)
Relative to the quality of graphics offered, we would describe the GPU requirements as quite high. With an entry-level chip on the level of the likes of the Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7, even low details fail to run smoothly in Full HD. Mid-range cards like the Nvidia GeForce GTX 1650 Ti, on the other hand, are able to manage high settings well. At least a GeForce GTX 1660 Ti or a GeForce RTX 3050 Ti is recommended for the badass preset at 1,920 x 1,080 pixels.

UHD (3,840 x 2,160)
Players with 4K displays have to be prepared for some restrictions. Even RTX 3080-powered laptops have to nibble at the 40 FPS mark when using the Badass preset.

Since gaming tests are very time-consuming and often restricted by installation or activation limits, we can only provide you with a part of the benchmarks for the publication of the articles. More graphics cards will be tested in the coming days and weeks.
