AMD has announced what it calls the world's fastest HPC GPU, the Instinct MI100 based on the CDNA architecture. The Instinct MI100 offers up to 11.5 TFLOPs of FP64 compute performance when paired with 2nd gen EPYC processors. The MI100 is slated to offer better performance per dollar compared to the NVIDIA A100 GPU along with support for the new ROCm 4.0 software platform.

A few days ahead of the official launch, several retailers in Australia stated that the stock for both the Radeon RX 6800 and Radeon RX 6800 XT is "pretty terrible" but at least it is also expected for the launch availability of these cards to differ depending on the region. Sadly, the overall situation does not look great.

The Nokia 2.4 is now said to launch in India soon

The Nokia 2.4 is a new phone with a 6.5-inch HD+ display and dual rear cameras starting at about US$141. However, its maker has yet to bring this potentiallly attractive budget prospect to the Indian market. Now, however, there are claims that this might be addressed by the end of November 2020.

GamersNexus recently confirmed that NVIDIA is working on a platform-agnostic alternative to AMD's Smart Access Cache technology. According to NVIDIA, their Resizable BAR solution delivers a similar performance uplift as Smart Access Cache (up to 10 percent, depending on the title).

The lack of a native 1440p mode on the PlayStation 5 has created issues for owners of 1440p displays. MSI announced an innovative "fix" on some of its monitors, allowing certain 1440p monitors to accept the PlayStation 5's 4K signal and downsample.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070, beware: New AMD Radeon RX 6800 benchmarks leak online

Shortly after the RX 6800 XT surfaced in some leaked benchmarks, the upcoming AMD Radeon RX 6800 does the same. According to a Basemark listing (that seems to have been removed in the meantime), the RX 6800 will feature no less than 16 GB of memory and will be much faster than the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070.

Nokia has introduced some old familiar names as new KaiOS devices. These versions of the 6300 and 8000 have 4G/LTE in 2020, although they look much the same as old-school button phones. There are also features such as FM radios, WhatsApp support and headphone jacks in evidence with these new devices.

Mozilla releases a new system for rating gadgets by their "creepiness"

Given that consumers may be gearing up for their 2020 holiday shopping, Mozilla has expanded its Privacy Not Included initiative by ranking various popular devices and/or gift ideas by how "creepy" they are. It is based on the organization's research into how they or their OEMs handle and respect user personal data, and has thrown up what may be unpleasant surprises in some cases.

NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060: 6 GB and 12 GB GDDR6 SKUs to debut alongside the RTX 3050, RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3080 Ti in January 2021

There will be a 12 GB version of the GeForce RTX 3060, Videocardz has confirmed. A 6 GB SKU will be offered too, but there will only be an 8 GB version of the RTX 3060 Ti. The RTX 3060, RTX 3050 and RTX 3050 Ti are now thought to be arriving in January 2021, too.

Realme launched the V5, which started at around US$212, as a Chinese-market exclusive earlier in the year. Now, however, it appears to have been approved for sale in Thailand, suggesting that this 6.5-inch 90Hz display device may start to become available in other regions soon.

HarmonyOS will be available for up to 48 devices, Huawei Central believes. The 48-strong list includes current and recent flagship series, including those from Honor. Only 90% of devices will be eligible to try HarmonyOS, though.
