Reviews for the Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook 10

79.8% Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook 10 tablet review | Notebookcheck
As a Chromebook convertible, the Duet wants to replace laptops and tablets in the budget entry-level segment. The following review will reveal the limitations that users have to put up with.
90% Lenovo Chromebook Duet review: The perfect couch companion
Source: Android Central English
Lenovo brands the Lenovo Duet as a device that can do it all: it can work hard when you need it but gets out of the way when you just want to play games or watch movies. In my experience, I'm not sure how many of us would want to use a 10.1-inch screen as our primary computer, but the Duet can hack it for my work — answering emails, research, writing, and photo editing — and I bet it can hack it for yours, too. Where the Duet really shines is as a companion device, as a tablet that you can use while the kids are hogging the family computer or you're in the backyard away from your desktop. The Duet is a battery-sipping beauty that may not be the sleekest or shiniest tablet around, but it's certainly the most practical tablet out there. Even as we head into 2022, that's exactly what we need. Chrome OS offers you a desktop-grade experience when you need to VPN into work for a quick report or knock out a few dozen emails while you wait for everyone to assemble for movie night, and it offers up battery life that stands out even among Chromebooks.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Duet Chromebook strikes the perfect balance between tablet portability and Chromebook utility, all while keeping the price ridiculously low - and somehow packing in a Lich King of a battery that simply refuses to die. Finally, it does all this for less than $300. As far as Chromebooks and 2-in-1 laptops go, this is the best value you're going to find in a portable device of its kind, hands down. It's the computer that last decade's netbooks promised to be - but couldn't quite become - while taking the Chromebook to its next logical step.

80% Lenovo Duet review: Netbook reborn (and that’s a good thing!)
Source: Android Guys English
I really enjoyed my time with the Duet. It scratches that itch of quick productivity, but it also delivers a good second screen experience when sitting on the couch or when my daughter wants to watch something while we're out at dinner. It generally lives either in my work bag, where I do not even notice its presence, or in the kitchen where I use it almost every time I walk in to make some food. I'm never going to try and game on this thing nor do I expect to do heavy video editing. That's just not what it's designed to do. At less than $300, I don't think you're going to find much better than this on the market in the next year or so.

100% Lenovo IdeaPad Duet review: The little Chromebook hybrid tablet that could
Source: Expert Reviews English
After the failure of the Chromebook Pixel, it looked like the whole concept of the Chrome OS tablet was dead. Yet with its style, stamina and all-round usability, the IdeaPad Duet turns this around. We can forgive the poor performance in the face of how effectively it manages everything else, and it’s only the lack of size that makes it impractical for more demanding users. If you’re looking for a versatile Chrome OS all-rounder that can handle Android apps, look no further.

This Lenovo Chromebook Duet review shows why it should garner deserved attention for its value proposition, giving you a 2-in-1 with a solid screen and long endurance for less than the iPad or Surface Go 2 cost, before their keyboards. If only its keyboard weren't so cramped and its hinge felt a bit more solid. Those who opt for the Surface Go 2 for its faster performance and superior 2-in-1 design, you'll be dropping about an hour of battery life and paying at least $221 more after throwing in the Type Cover keyboard. But for families looking for a device that everyone can use, from kids watching YouTube to parents drafting emails, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet is a compelling option.

Google might have given up on the idea of a Chrome OS tablet with the demise of the Pixel Slate, but that hasn’t stopped Lenovo. The IdeaPad Duet is a 10.1in tablet running Chrome OS and supplied with a rear cover that doubles as a fold-out stand, plus a magnetic clip-on keyboard that instantly transforms it into a productivity device. Take a look at the price and you’ll expect the result to be a disaster, but here’s the surprise: while far from perfect, the IdeaPad Duet turns out to be a little wonder.

There’s a lot to like with the Lenovo Duet Chromebook: it is well-priced, has a good screen and works well as a tablet. It is less successful as a laptop, though: the keyboard and touchpad are too small to be comfortable to use for longer periods. If you are typing all day long, get a dedicated Chromebook with a bigger keyboard.

So long as you know the limitations going in, the Duet is a very likeable device that offers strong value for money. Make no mistake, this is no powerhouse and the cramped keyboard won’t be for everyone, but when it comes to general computing and shorter-length writing duties it’s a lovely little 2-in-1 Chromebook that can double as a serviceable Android tablet.

But if you're looking for something for pure mobility or as a secondary device, this is a smart choice. I can certainly see why Chrome users are excited about it, especially at $300 or less.

When announced at CES this year, the Lenovo Duet Chromebook attracted a lot of attention for putting some great features and looks into a budget-priced ChromeOS tablet. Review: Lenovo Chromebook Duet – Great hardware, mismatched OS
Source: On MSFT English
I would recommend the Duet as a buy for anyone who wants to cautiously move to ChromeOS, a secondary device, an in-a-pinch substitute or a an additional screen in this new work-from-home reality. I don’t think the current Duet is ready to take on heavy workloads just yet, but if Lenovo keeps at it, the Duet 2 might be in the conversation with iPad Pro, Galaxy Tabs, and Surface Pros with just a few tweaks. Will ChromeOS keep pace? That may be another story.

As someone who has made use of a Surface Go for a long time (I used it at MWC last year even) I love the smaller, more portable form factor. I don’t mind a smaller keyboard — I’m not a full touch-typer anyway so it did not fuss me too much. I would have liked the keyboard to be backlit though but that of course depends on where and when you use it yourself.

There's a lot of good with the Lenovo Chromebook Duet, and when you consider the price, it's pretty much all good. This device looks and feels premium with its aluminum build, two-tone design, and excellent display. The Chromebook Duet earns an honorable mention among Chromebooks for consumers and captures our Editors' Choice among Chromebooks for students. Besides being a bargain, it's a thoughtfully designed and well-crafted detachable, especially for Android phone owners; the tablet and its peripherals have the look and feel of a product costing much more. The Lenovo Chromebook Duet is a surprisingly affordable 2-in-1 looking to find a path for a troubled kind of Chromebook. Overall, Lenovo has absolutely delivered a stellar tablet/laptop experience with the Chromebook Duet. Sure, I’d like to see a fingerprint scanner included and I’m excited about tablets like this in the future with even better ARM chips than this, but this all just proves that ‘Kukui’ (the baseboard this device is built upon) tablets are going to be what breathe life back into the idea of a Chrome OS tablets again.
