LG UltraGear 32GQ950: More details provided about 160 Hz and 1,000 nit gaming monitor ahead of release later this month

LG has outlined more details about the UltraGear 32GQ950, one of three new large gaming monitors. The UltraGear 32GQ950 has a 31.5-inch panel that outputs at 4K and up to 160 Hz with a 1,000 nit peak brightness. LG will release the UltraGear 32GQ950 in Japan first before bringing it to other markets, including Europe and North America.

Researchers in Portugal, the US, and the UK recently published a paper in which they attempted to leverage quantum computing algorithms to optimize ray-traced rendering workloads. The researchers' approach helped cut intersections per ray in a scene by a factor of three. The use of older NISQ quantum computing technology meant rendering took several hours, however.

Baseus GaN 100 W Fast Charger launches with USB-C and USB-A ports

The Baseus Gallium Nitride 100 W Fast Charger is now available to pre-order in China. The plug has a USB-C and a USB-A port, allowing you to charge two devices simultaneously. The gadget supports PD, QC and PPS fast charging technologies, plus the device has eight-fold protection against potential faults.

Samsung has announced the Odyssey Neo G7, a gaming monitor with a 1000R curvature. The Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 also outputs at 4K and 165 Hz with 1,196 mini LED local dimming zones that deliver up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness. Samsung has included all the ports necessary to connect the Odyssey Neo G7 to a high-end gaming PC or a current-generation games console too.

There are multiple ways to connect to the gadget, including Air Tap mode, which uses a built-in NFC reader to allow you to tap your smartphone to start printing. Prolific leaker Ice Universe has stated that the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 is way more energy efficient than its predecessors, including the recently launched Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. The tipster adds that Samsung's upcoming Galaxy S22 FE could use a MediaTek Dimensity 9000 SoC instead of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1/Exynos 2200.
