Mobvoi TicWatch GTW: New smartwatch unveiled with 30 days of battery life and LTE support
Mobvoi has introduced the TicWatch GTW, a smartwatch that it currently sells in China. Only available in one size, the TicWatch GTW bears a close resemblance with the TicWatch Pro 3 series. However, it seems that the TicWatch GTW relies on Mobvoi's proprietary operating system, not Wear OS.
Regardless, Mobvoi includes over 100 watch faces and exercise modes, plus its TicMotion suite of first-party apps. Also, the TicWatch GTW has an NFC module for making NFC payments and an eSIM for making and receiving calls over LTE. Additionally, the TicWatch GTW has a built-in GPS module for use when cycling, walking or running. Unsurprisingly, Mobvoi has also included various health monitoring sensors, mirroring the TicWatch Pro 3 series.
As Mobvoi's marketing images show, the TicWatch GTW has a 1.39-inch AMOLED display and is IP68 certified against dust and water. As far as we can tell, the TicWatch GTW lacks the dual-display functionality of its TicWatch Pro 3 siblings, although it still manages up to 30 days of battery life on a single charge. While Mobvoi has not confirmed a global release yet, it sells the TicWatch GTW in China for CNY 999 (~US$150).
