Galaxy Z Fold4: Samsung to improve display visual clarity with this year's Galaxy Z Fold
@UniverseIce has added to their many predictions for the Galaxy Z Fold4, still rumoured to be launching this autumn alongside the Galaxy Z Flip4. To recap, it has been less than two weeks since the leaker claimed that this year's Galaxy Z Fold would adopt a subtly different form factor compared to the Galaxy Z Fold2 and Galaxy Z Fold3. As we discussed at the time, @UniverseIce alleged that the Galaxy Z Fold4 would have a 23:9 cover display and a 6:5 internal display, giving the device a squarer look than its predecessor.
Now, they have outlined another significant change for the latter. Supposedly, Samsung has reduced the visibility of the display crease from the Galaxy Z Fold3 to the Galaxy Z Fold4. Potentially, this may be because of Samsung's new Super Ultra Thin Glass (UTG), details about which leaked in March. Although @UniverseIce notes that the display crease will remain visible, they remark that the Galaxy Z Fold4's foldable display will look smoother than previous models.
Hopefully, display improvements will result in the Galaxy Z Fold4's foldable panel being more scratch-resistant too. Based on leaked CAD renders, the Galaxy Z Fold4 will look an awful lot like its predecessor. As the image above shows, Samsung is expected to bring across the Galaxy S22 Ultra's camera housing style to the Galaxy Z Fold4, eschewing the small housing found in the Galaxy Z Fold3. Both the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 are believed to feature Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon chipset, for reference.
