Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4: No 108 MP camera but could offer Samsung's most powerful short-range zoom yet
Weeks ago, reports surfaced claiming that Samsung would equip the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold4 with the Galaxy S22 Ultra's 108 MP camera. New information appears to indicate that those reports were inaccurate, however.
As revealed by leaker Ice Universe, the Galaxy Z Fold4 will actually use a 50 MP camera as its main camera, and not the 108 MP ISOCELL HM3 on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. While the details of the sensor aren't provided, it'd be surprising if it wasn't the 1/1.56-inch ISOCELL GN3 on the Galaxy S22 and S22+.
In addition to that, the Galaxy Z Fold4 is tipped to sport a 12 MP ultra-wide camera and a 12 MP telephoto lens. Ice Universe claims the 3x telephoto lens will be the best Samsung has implemented on a phone yet, even better than the Galaxy S22 Ultra's. All three Galaxy S22 phones use 10 MP sensors beneath their zoom lenses, and the move to 12 MP on the Galaxy Z Fold4 should be an upgrade, particularly as Samsung hasn't offered a 12 MP telephoto camera since the Galaxy S10 series.
