A few days ago, reports surfaced indicating that Samsung would equip its upcoming premium foldable phone, the Galaxy Z Fold4, with the 3x telephoto camera from the Galaxy S22 and S22+. It gets better, it appears.
Word on the grapevine now also claims that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will go a step further by adopting a 108 MP camera. Not any random one either, but the same 108 MP HM3 on the Galaxy S22 Ultra. It was rumored earlier but this appears to be a bit more concrete, as it's reported by leaker Dohyun Kim who has built up a solid reputation providing Samsung-related information.
This means that the Galaxy Z Fold4 will offer class-leading camera performance befitting its likely US$1799 MSRP. The Galaxy Z Fold3 launched at that price point last year, and buyers may have felt disappointed at paying that much for a device with worse cameras than the Galaxy S21 Ultra. That's unlikely to be the case this year, as the Galaxy Z Fold4 is said to share camera hardware with the Galaxy S22 Ultra, albeit with the possible absence of the 10x periscope zoom lens.
Same setup sensor as the S22U, might lack the periscope sensor
