Leaked Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 colour options point to changes for Samsung's foldable smartphone lineup
Ross Young, Co-Founder and CEO at Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) has shared more information about this year's Galaxy Z Fold and Galaxy Z Flip. Rumoured to be called the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4, the pair are expected to arrive with designs that broadly resemble their predecessors'. However, Samsung is believed to have made a few changes with its fourth-generation models, such as a larger battery capacity and cover display for the Galaxy Z Flip4, plus improved cameras for the Galaxy Z Fold4.
According to Young, Samsung is also looking to introduce new colour options this year for its foldable smartphone series. To recap, Samsung offers the Galaxy Z Fold3 in Phantom Black, Green and Silver, not to mention the Thom Browne and Wooyoungmi Editions. In comparison, the Galaxy Z Flip3 comes in Phantom Black, Cream, Green, Grey, Lavender, Pink and White, along with several special edition models.
Purportedly, the introduction of new colours will also simplify the Galaxy Z Flip's options. Writing on Twitter, Young alleges that last year's Black and Green colourways will make way for Gold and Light Blue. Seemingly, the Grey and Light Violet options will be straight swaps, but Cream, Pink and White have also been axed. By contrast, Young expects Samsung to offer the Galaxy Z Fold4 in Beige, Black and Grey, eschewing Phantom Green.
Similarly, Beige and Grey have replaced Phantom Silver, although it remains to be seen how these colours will actually look. Presumably, all the colour options described by Ross Young will leak over the coming months as more information about the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Z Flip4 emerges.
