Dell XPS 9315t: XPS 2-in-1 leaks as Dell looks to take on the Microsoft Surface Pro 8
Evan Blass has leaked an unreleased Dell XPS 2-in-1, which the leaker claims will be called the XPS 9315t. For reference, Dell released the XPS 13 9310 last year, which it followed up with the XPS 13 Plus (9320). Billed by Blass as a Microsoft Surface competitor, the XPS 9315t has a 13-inch display surrounded by comparatively thick bezels.
Additionally, the XPS 13 9315t lacks a built-in kickstand. Instead, the device relies on its keyboard accessory that appears to offer limited viewing angles. Also, it seems that the keyboard can only lie flat on a desk, which may make the XPS 9315t difficult to use on a lap. Thankfully, the accessory has a wide trackpad, albeit with no spaces between its six-row keyboard.
As the leaked marketing images show, the XPS 9315t has two USB Type-C ports and no 3.5 mm headphone jack, mirroring the XPS 13 Plus. Presumably Thunderbolt 4 ports, the XPS 9315t also has a SIM card slot, two speakers, seven pogo pins for its detachable keyboard, a rear-facing camera, a wide power button that could contain a fingerprint scanner and what appears to be an area through which to recharge the device's active stylus.
Unfortunately, other specifications remain unknown at this stage. However, Blass claims that these images represent XPS 9315t retail units. According to Blass, Dell will unveil the XPS 9315t 'relatively soon', having developed the device since last year.
