Huawei MateBook D 14: 2022 refresh revealed with a choice of Intel Core i5-1240P and Core i7-1260P processors
Huawei has announced a new version of the MateBook D 14, now called the MateBook D 14 2022. Like the MateBook 14 2022, the MateBook D 14 2022 relies on the Core i5-1240P or Core i7-1260P, along with a 14-inch display. However, the MateBook D 14 2022 has a 1080p panel with a 16:9 aspect ratio; the MateBook 14 2022 has a 3:2 and 1400p panel, in comparison. Also, the MateBook D 14 2022 peaks at 300 nits with a 1,000:1 contrast ratio and an 84% screen-to-body ratio.
Moreover, Huawei offers the 322.5 x 214.8 x 15.9 mm laptop in grey and silver finishes, which both weigh 1.38 kg. Seemingly, Huawei equips the MateBook D 14 2022 with the same 56 Wh battery as the MateBook 14 2022, plus similar ports. For some reason, one of the former's USB Type-A ports operates on the slower USB 2.0 standard. Additionally, the MateBook D 14 2022 has a USB 3.2 Gen1 Type-A, USB Type-C, HDMI and 3.5 mm jack connections.
The MateBook D 14 2022 starts at CNY 5,299 (~US$797) with a Core i5 processor, 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. Alternatively, Huawei offers a Core i7 model with the same RAM and storage for CNY 5,999 (~US$902); both configurations are available in grey and silver finishes. Huawei has not confirmed when it will launch the MateBook D 14 2022 outside China, although we imagine that global and Chinese models will feature identical specifications.
