Microsoft has announced that Office 2021 will be released at the same time as Windows 11, and not just for its latest operating system. Office 2021 will be available without needing to pay a monthly subscription, too.

According to a leak, Microsoft has settled on a US$799 starting price for the Surface Pro 8. Supposedly, a Chinese retailer has leaked numerous Surface Pro 8 details too, including a 13-inch display, a 120 Hz refresh rate and the presence of Thunderbolt 4 ports.

Microsoft is projected to have a third-gen Surface Go ready for launch. This putative 2-in-1 has now leaked again, with virtually complete specs and a full set of renders this time. They paint the device as a very iterative update with Intel Amber Lake processors, although it might be more portable than its predecessor.

Microsoft could be internally testing the Windows Subsystem for Android on a variety of x86 and ARM hardware as evidenced by new Geekbench entries. The ARM results show scores equivalent to that of a Snapdragon 865 while we see some performance regression on x86 hardware, which is likely using Intel's Bridge Technology. A listing of the Amazon Appstore Preview has also popped up on the Microsoft Store.

MSI has unveiled a limited version of the Creator Z16 in collaboration with Hiroshi Fujiwara. The Creator Z16 Hiroshi Fujiwara Limited Edition features an AUO AmLED display that delivers mini LED backlights, a peak 1,000 nit brightness and a 165 Hz refresh rate.

Microsoft has pushed a new change to Windows 11 with Insider Preview Build 22000.194, available to machines on the Beta channel. The change requires that all Virtual Machines require TPM 2.0 to function at all, bringing them in line with physical Windows 11 installations.

Microsoft has commenced rolling out its new passwordless accounts feature. Over the coming weeks, users will be able to sign in using its Authenticator app which also dramatically increases user account security.

Available for both desktop and mobile users, Vivaldi 4.2 includes a few interesting new features and improvements, such as the ability to translate text on a web page privately, URL sharing via QR codes, scrollable web panel buttons, Neeva as a new search option, all alongside the usual set of unseen tweaks and fixes.

Microsoft has released another Windows 11 Insider Preview Build as it works towards next year's stable update. Insider Preview Build 22458 contains more bugs than it does fixes and no real new features. There is no new build for Beta channel users today, either.

Honor has unveiled refreshed versions of the MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15, two relatively inexpensive laptops. The MagicBook 14 and MagicBook 15 retain the designs of their predecessors but gain AMD Ryzen 5 5500U processors. Both machines come with 512 GB of storage and at least 8 GB of RAM.

Thanks to the combination of the AMD Ryzen 7 CPU and the very powerful Nvidia GeForce RTX 3060, Lenovo's Legion 5 15 offers plenty of performance. Gamers will also appreciate the responsive 165 Hz display and multi-zone keyboard illumination, but there are no additional gaming features.

Microsoft has certified new Surface hardware with the FCC before its September 22 launch event. The company is expected to unveil everything from a new Surface Book to a new Surface Pro, along with a Surface Duo 2 for good measure.

Windows 11 will ship on October 5, but support is not forthcoming for Apple Silicon hardware. Instead, Microsoft treats Apple M1 devices as an 'unsupported scenario' both for Boot Camp and Parallels.

Microsoft's September 22 event is expected to be packed with new Surface hardware, from the Surface Book 4, to the Surface Duo 2 and the Surface Go 3. Reportedly, a new Surface Pro X and a Surface Pro 8 are arriving, too.

Instead of just equipping the GE 76 Raider 11UH with a new CPU, MSI has also introduced small innovations that aren't immediately noticeable.

With Windows 11's shipping date right around the corner, Microsoft has turned its attention to next year's update. The company still has time to push out another Windows 11 21H2 build though, even if it only addresses two bugs from last week's build.

Some of the new improvements include better CPU and RAM prioritisation for foreground apps that can also lead to expanded battery life on laptops, faster resume from sleep mode, reduced storage footprint with non-critical apps that can install on demand, DCH drivers that reduce the occurrence of crashes and 40% lighter updates.

The LG Gram series stands for extreme light weight that you look for to no avail from other laptop manufacturers. At the same time, the new 17Z90P is still very well equipped for everyday tasks. However, the low weight also comes at the cost of some weak points.

In addition to Thunderbolt 4 ports, the Fujitsu LifeBook U7311 also has a VGA port. However, the wide selection of ports is not the only thing that makes the Fujitsu laptop worthwhile.

High-end laptops are often exciting, innovative, and high-quality. However, not many users are willing to spend several thousand Euros for a laptop. This makes upper mid-range laptops like the Lenovo IdeaPad 5 Pro 16ACH interesting. It makes the Ryzen 5000 series and a great high-resolution 16:10 LCD with 120 Hz available to the masses.

Chuwi has introduced the HeroBook Air, a compact laptop that is also just US$249. Unfortunately, US$249 does not buy you much, not even a 1080p display. The Celeron N4020-powered laptop will go on sale later this month.

Labeled 2.9 “Direct Hit” and released earlier today, the latest update to War Thunder sports a rich collection of new aircraft, ships, armored vehicles, and more. Its highlights include the MiG-27M (also the first aircraft in the game to carry guided bombs), two new battlegrounds, as well as visual updates for some older models (the B-17 bombers, for example).

Microsoft has published the first element of Android app support for Windows 11. Initially listed as being compatible with Xbox consoles, the app works with Windows 10, too. Both references are seemingly erroneous, but compatibility for the version of Windows 11 that is shipping on October 5 could be on the cards.

Intel has unveiled the NUC P14E, a modular laptop with high-end hardware. The NUC P14E has a 2K and 3:2 display, a 77 Wh battery, biometric authentication options and an aluminium build. The NUC P14E has more ports than most conventional laptops, too.

Asus has made the VivoBook Pro 14, Pro 14X, 15, and Pro 16X official in the European market. The new laptops have options on OLED screens and either Intel Tiger Lake or Ryzen 5000 processors. This, of course, also means Thunderbolt 4 in some SKUs, in a series offering up to RTX 3050 Ti cards in terms of graphics.

Besides the high-end Aero models, Gigabyte also offers budget gaming laptops. One of them is the G5 KC, which scores points with good performance and a low price.

XDO Tech has managed to generate quite a lot of enthusiasm for its Pantera Pico, a mini-PC into which the OEM has managed to cram 4 USB type A ports, active cooling and an HDMI port for a 4K/UHD output. Now, this hype has been converted into the ability to smash the original goal of its Kickstarter campaign nearly 5 times over by now.

The Windows 11 Insider Preview Programme channels have parted ways this week, with the Dev Channel moving onto the next version of the OS. However, the two channels may be running different versions of Windows 11 now, but Microsoft managed to break both builds with a poorly implemented advert built right into the taskbar.

Microsoft is set to reveal the Surface Go 3 at its hardware event later this month, where we may also see the Surface Book 4 and Surface Duo 2. While these two may be overhauls compared to their predecessors, the Surface Go 3 will not. Expect the same design as the Surface Go 2 and the same family of processors.

ASUS is continuing its trend towards fitting its new mid to higher end laptops with OLED displays. Its new Zenbook 14X, which comes in both standard and convertible configurations, are fitted with high resolution OLED panels that deliver reduced blue light and better image quality than LCD panels.

ASUS has unveiled two new professional laptops as part of a ProArt StudioBook 16 series refresh. The pair are available with 16-inch and 4K OLED displays, AMD Ryzen 5000 APUs and NVIDIA GeForce RTX GPUs. ASUS has included dedicated mouse buttons, a number pad and an ASUS Dial, too.

The Surface Go 3 may have leaked with a Pentium Gold 6500Y and a Core i3-10100Y. Yet, we have already seen the former in the Surface Go 2 before under a different name. For some reason, Intel decided to re-name the Core m3-8100Y as a Pentium Gold processor, without changing any specifications whatsoever.

If you are running Windows 11 on an incompatible machine, then you are at the end of the road as far as the Insider Preview Programme goes. For some reason, Microsoft is informing people that they must revert their devices to Windows 10. There is a workaround, albeit with limitations.

Microsoft has sent out invitations to a launch event that will take place in three weeks. The event may be a chance for the company to showcase the Surface Duo 2 and a next-generation Surface Book 4, among other devices.

Microsoft has now confirmed that Windows 11 will officially become available and rollout in a phased manner from October 5 with all eligible PCs expected to be updated by mid-2022. Android app support is not a part of this initial release but will be made available for Insiders to test out in the coming months.

Dell is ready for Windows 11's arrival and has already announced its upgrade plans. The list of devices to get the free upgrade from Windows 10 includes the Dell XPS 13, Alienware x15/x17, and more. Starting October 5th, new devices will come loaded with Windows 11, but business users will get Windows 10 Pro with pre-installed licenses.

The technical specs of the current SureView panel sound great: 1,000 nits of brightness, a matte surface, and viewing angles are narrowed at the press of a button. But the impact on image quality shouldn't be underestimated, though; the EliteBook 830 G8 would make a better overall package with a different display.

The new feature should allow technically less inclined users to easily recognize whether their PC is compatible with Windows 11 and prepare them for the upcoming release of Microsoft's new operating system. This would render the inconvenient compatibility test in the PC Health Check application obsolete.

The next-generation Microsoft Surface Book laptop has been appearing in some expertly crafted fan-made concept renders. The name of the future Surface is still unknown, with one designer calling his creation the Surface Book 4 while another artist went with Surface Book Studio. The images are based on drawings from a patent filing.
