Dell Inspiron 14 5425: 14-inch laptop revealed with AMD Barcelo APUs
Dell has announced the Inspiron 14 5425 with new AMD Barcelo APUs. While the laptop is available in multiple markets, the US has received fewer configurable options than in Germany. For example, Dell offers the Ryzen 5 5625U and Ryzen 7 5825U in Germany, but only the latter in the US. Still, the laptop comes in a Platinum Silver colour option, regardless of from where you order it.
Incidentally, Dell lists 'Pebble Green' as a colour option in the machine's technical specifications, although it is not configurable anywhere yet. Additionally, the Inspiron 14 5425 has DDR4-3200 RAM, currently just 16 GB in the US. Likewise, the laptop has a 512 GB SSD; a 256 GB drive is optional in Germany too. Moreover, Dell includes a 1,920 x 1,200-pixel display that operates at 60 Hz with 250 nits of peak brightness.
Presumably an IPS panel, the display does not support touch input, nor does it have a Windows Hello-compatible webcam either. Meanwhile, a 54 Wh battery powers the laptop, which ships with two USB Type-A ports, a single Type-C port that supports DisplayPort, an HDMI port, a 3.5 mm jack and a power adapter. The Inspiron 14 5425 is orderable for US$899.99 in the US, where it is already shipping.
