Dell Inspiron 14 2-in-1 now available in multiple markets with AMD Barcelo and Intel Alder Lake processors
Dell has started selling the Inspiron 14 2-in-1, a 14-inch convertible laptop available with AMD or Intel processors. As always will Dell laptops, the company distinguishes between processor types with model numbers ending in '0' and '5'. Specifically, the AMD model carries the model number 7425, with Dell assigning 7420 for Intel configurations.
Fundamentally, the 7420 and the 7425 are the same laptop. However, there are a few differences between the pair, besides price. On the one hand, the pair feature different Wi-Fi cards, with the 7425 relying on the MediaTek MT7921, a Wi-Fi 6 compatible module that supports Bluetooth 5.2. While the Intel AX211 also supports the same Bluetooth standard, it utilises Wi-Fi 6E too. On the other hand, the 7420 is slightly lighter at 1.57 kg, compared to 1.63 kg for the 7425.
Conversely, both ship with DDR4-3200 RAM, the same 14-inch display and M.2 PCIe storage. Likewise, Dell equips both with dual USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports, a USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A port, an HDMI 1.4 port and a 3.5 mm combo jack. The Inspiron 7420 and Inspiron 7425 are orderable now at the following prices. You can find out more about each laptop in the links above, which direct to Dell's website.
