Huawei has introduced the MateBook 16s in Europe, along with the MateBook D16 and the MatePad Paper. Fundamentally, the MateBook 16s is unchanged from the version that Huawei introduced last month in China. As such, all the specifications outlined in our original launch article apply to the MateBook 16s' European release.
Huawei has confirmed that the MateBook 16s will be available from today in Europe, but only with a Core i7 processor. According to the company, the machine will start at €1,699 with the Core i7-12700H and a Space Grey colour option. By contrast, the company will start offering the MateBook 16s with a Core i9-12900H from the middle of July.
Separately, it seems that Huawei has decided against bringing the Core i5-12500H version of the MateBook 16s to Europe. For reference, Huawei ships a 90 W charger with the Core i7-12700H model and a 130 W equivalent if you choose a Core i9-12900H-powered version. As far as we can tell, Huawei will only offer the MateBook 16s with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and a 1 TB SSD.
Incidentally, Huawei will bundle a complimentary MateView GT 27 monitor with MateBook 16s pre-orders, typically available for €399 on its own. Huawei states that this bundle will be available until July 31, but only through its website.
