Lenovo's upcoming gaming smartphone, codenamed Halo, has made one of its first Geekbench appearances. It packs a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, 8 GB of RAM and runs Android 12. Lenovo is expected to unveil the devices sometime in July 2022.

A previous leak talked about Lenovo launching a new gaming phone codenamed Halo. The mid-cycle refresh will deviate from its predecessor's naming scheme but reuse a fair bit of its hardware, including the 6.67-inch 144 Hz POLED screen and 5,000 mAh battery that supports 68 W fast charging. A recent Geekbench listing (via 91mobiles) of the Lenovo Halo gives yet another peek into its innards.

As predicted earlier, the Lenovo Halo will run a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC coupled with at least 8 GB of system memory, with the maximum amount maxing out at 16 GB. The phone nets single and multi-core scores of 1,299 and 3,953, respectively on the CPU tests. While these figures are somewhat underwhelming for Qualcomm's latest silicon, the reduced performance is likely due to unstable firmware.

Other Lenovo Halo specs include three rear camera sensors (50 MP + 12 MP + 2 MP), a 16 MP selfie camera, and a more conventional design. It will likely include some quintessential gaming phone features such as additional capacitive buttons, and multiple USB ports to attach accessories. Lenovo is slated to launch the phone in China sometime in July 2022, with the prospects of a global launch being unlikely, at least momentarily.
