Huawei Watch GT 3 Pro starts receiving new HarmonyOS 2 software updates following European release
Less than a month has passed since Huawei introduced the Watch GT 3 Pro in Europe, where it retails from €370. Similarly, Huawei released the Watch GT 3 Pro in China in late April, but both variants have started receiving software updates. As the screenshots below show, Chinese units have received a newer build of HarmonyOS 2 than their Turkish equivalents, but this is often the case with Huawei wearables. The same is not true of European builds, though.
Specifically, Huawei has issued HarmonyOS 2.1.0.316 in Turkey, which is approximately a 390 MB download. Supposedly, the update optimises system stability and improves user experience 'in several situations', which seem small changes for almost a 400 MB update. Huawei's changelogs suggest the same is the case for Harmony OS 2.1.0.358 and Harmony OS 2.1.0.359, which are both nearly 400 MB downloads too.
However, Huawei Blog has noticed that the Watch GT 3 Pro still does not support ECG functionality in Europe, unlike in Turkey. Allegedly, Huawei awaits EU certification to enable ECG functionality, which is also the case for the Watch D. Currently, Huawei hopes to enable ECG capabilities in Europe and the UK 'later this year'. Incidentally, Huawei has added Asteriosclerosis Risk Screening, which allows the Watch GT 3 Pro to measure whether your arteries are hardening. The new feature can be activated within the Huawei Health app, which is where you can download this month's HarmonyOS 2 updates too.
