The first major update of 2022 comes with the legendary A-10A Thunderbolt II ground-attack aircraft, alongside other planes, Swedish helicopters, multiple ground vehicles, various ships, as well as an updated graphics engine (Dagor Engine 6.5) with significantly improved effects and a massive Ultra HD texture pack.

MSI has revealed the CreatorPro M series, consisting of 15-inch, 16-inch and 17-inch models. While the trio feature new NVIDIA RTX GPUs, they have different processors, displays and I/O. The CreatorPro M15, M16 and M17 all start at €1,599, though.

On the other hand, some compromises appear to have been made here for the improved affordability of its new SKUs.

MSI has revealed a refreshed Prestige 14 EVO, a 14-inch laptop now based on Intel Alder Lake processors. Starting at US$929, the Prestige 14 EVO will cost up to US$1,299 with a Core i7-1280P, 32 GB of RAM and a 1 TB SSD.

MSI has announced an upgraded Modern 14, which now relies on Intel Alder Lake processors. Restricted to 15 W parts, the Modern 14 also only comes with one memory configuration and two colourways. The new MSI Modern 14 starts at US$699 and rises to US$799 with a Core i5-1235U processor.

Prime Computer has announced the PrimeBook Circular, a modern laptop with modular components. Available with various processors from the Intel Celeron 6305 to the Core i7-1185G7, the PrimeBook Circular has a 77 Wh battery, a 3,000 x 2,000-pixel touchscreen display and weighs 1.5 kg. The PrimeBook Circular comes with 3-years manufacturer's warranty by default, too.

The Ryzen Pro series is targeting enterprise customers. With the past 2021 generation, only chips based on the newest "Cezanne" platform were sold under the Ryzen Pro label. Lucienne was only meant for consumers. With the 2022 AMD CPUs, things are changing, as the Cezanne refresh Barcelo will be released with Ryzen Pro variants - with the Ryzen 7 Pro 5875U as the top-of-the-line model.

Lenovo introduced the IdeaPad Gaming 3i last month, but a retailer has revealed how much the 15-inch laptop will cost with an Intel Core i5-12450H processor and an Intel Arc A370M GPU. Units are not expected to begin shipping until late May though, two months after Intel releases its Arc Graphics series.

A third-party retailer has started offering the Swift X SFX16-52G, Acer's 16-inch laptop with an Intel Arc dedicated GPU. Available with Core i5-1240P and Core i7-1260P processors, the Swift X also utilises the Intel Arc A370M plus a 1600p display and LPDDR5 RAM. The SFX16-52G starts at €1,299, excluding taxes.

Chuwi has revealed an upgraded version of the CoreBook X 2022, a 14-inch laptop with a 3:2 display. Sadly, the CoreBook X 2022 comes with the Core i3-10110U, an ageing Intel Comet Lake-U series processor. Chuwi will start selling the CoreBook X 2022 later this month.

Xiaomi is preparing to release a thinner and lighter gaming laptop under its RedmiBook series. Not only will the Redmi K50 launch event showcase new smartphones, it will also be the place where Xiaomi unveils the RedmiBook Pro 2022. The RedmiBook Pro 2022 will arrive with Intel Alder Lake-H processors and NVIDIA GPUs mated to a 90 Hz display. The upcoming gaming laptop will debut with a revised cooling system too, among other features.

The compact ThinkPad models L13 and L13 Yoga are rather popular, seeing their comparably low pricing. The new ThinkPad models L13 Gen 3 and L13 Yoga Gen 3 receive 16:10 screens and a RAM upgrade.

Lenovo has showcased the ThinkPad X13 Yoga Gen 3, an updated convertible laptop with Intel's latest Alder Lake processors. Microsoft is testing a tabbed File Explorer UI in Dev Channel builds of Windows 11. The feature is hidden for now but can be manually enabled using the ViveTool. The tabbed Explorer UI is still a work-in-progress but does allow users to open multiple tabs in the same window while also allowing tab scrolling just like a browser.

Two developers have successfully installed Windows 11 on the Microsoft Surface Duo. The smartphone achieves acceptable performance with its Snapdragon 855 chipset, although not all features are currently supported. Still, it is now possible to dual-boot Android and Windows on a Microsoft Surface device.

ASUS has launched the PN63-S1, another mini-PC by the company. The PN63-S1 features up to 35 W processors and can power three 4K displays, among other features. The PN63-S1 comes with a choice of six processors, including the Core i7-11370H.

You can get the regular Surface Laptop with Intel or AMD processors, but Microsoft equips the new high-end device Surface Laptop Studio with old Tiger Lake quad-core CPUs, which are hardly competitive anymore. The manufacturer saved money in other respects as well.

The Lenovo IdeaPad Flex 5i is one of three IdeaPad Flex 5 series machines that the company has released at MWC 2022. The IdeaPad Flex 5i is the most powerful of the trio though, with new Intel Alder Lake processors, a dedicated GPU option and even an OLED display. The IdeaPad Flex 5i starts at €499 but rises to €699 for the entry-level 16-inch version.

Lenovo has announced the IdeaPad Flex 5i Chromebook at MWC 2022, the Chrome OS version of the IdeaPad Flex 5i. The Chromebook variant still comes with Intel Alder Lake processors, but only as a 14-inch laptop. The 1.62 kg machine offers up to 10 hours of battery life and will start at €549 when it launches in June.

The ThinkPad T series is the most well known ThinkPad series, apart from the X1 ThinkPads maybe. Lenovo describes the ThinkPad laptops of the T line as workhorses and the workhorses receive a huge upgrade at MWC 2022. This includes a new chassis design, 16:10 screens and the newest processor for ThinkPad T14 G3 and T16 G1.

Apart from a regular update to the established T series ThinkPads, Lenovo also dares to explore new territory with the ThinkPad brand at MWC. In the case of the Lenovo ThinkPad X13s, this means going with Qualcomm instead of AMD and Intel, or rather Snapdragon than Core i or Ryzen. The result is the first ThinkPad laptop with an ARM CPU.

The ExpertBook B3 offers an LTE modem, two Thunderbolt 4 ports in a 14-inch form factor (FHD, IPS). The touchscreen can be used with the included input pen. The latter is stowed away in a panel in the base unit.

Samsung has showcased the Galaxy Book2 Pro as MWC 2022 begins. The Galaxy Book2 Pro comes in 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch screen sizes, both with AMOLED panels and Intel Alder Lake processors. However, the larger model gains Intel Arc Graphics dedicated GPUs, plus an HDMI port. All models weigh less than 1.2 kg though, and will be available in two colours.

A new version of the Galaxy Book Pro 360 has arrived, appropriately called the Galaxy Book2 Pro 360. Samsung's latest convertible laptop will be available with Intel Alder Lake processors, in 13.3-inch and 15.6-inch screen sizes and will feature Super AMOLED displays. S Pen support is on board too, but there are no dedicated GPU options.

Images of a Xiaomi Pad 5 running Windows 11 have emerged online. Apart from a lack of GPU drivers, the operating system seems to be working fine. However, its performance has been slightly affected, as exhibited by its Geekbench score.
