It has been claimed that Microsoft is mulling over using AMD chips in a future Surface Laptop refresh. Devices that run legacy Windows versions and support SHA-1 will be blocked from updating in 2019

Microsoft has announced that only Secure Hash Algorithm 2 (SHA-2) code-signing will be used to update legacy versions of Windows (namely Windows Server 2008 SP2, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Windows 7 SP1). Machines that only support SHA-1 will be considered too vulnerable, and will be prevented from updating by next April.

Some Windows 10 Pro licenses are reportedly getting deactivated to Windows 10 Home

A strange bug in Microsoft's activation servers is causing deactivation of several Windows 10 Pro licenses and prompting users to install Windows 10 Home. Trying to purchase a Pro key from the Store is apparently not solving the problem. Fortunately, Microsoft is aware of this issue and said that it is working to resolve it at the earliest.

The Alienware m15 with NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 is coming in early 2019

Frank Azor has just confirmed that the new top end hardware configurations for the Alienware m15 gaming notebook will arrive in about 60 days if everything goes as expected. This means that both the high- and low-end configurations will probably arrive at the same time, most likely by mid-January.
