Minecraft Earth is a brand-new, free-to-play, 10th anniversary title to join the Minecraft family
Minecraft Earth now official (Source: Minecraft)
The recently unveiled Minecraft Earth is a free-to-play, augmented reality Minecraft title to be added to the Minecraft universe. However, those interested can only sign up for a chance to play the limited beta — which is scheduled to arrive this summer — for now. Signing up will also get them a free Earth skin for Minecraft Bedrock.
After a decade since it became available as a developmental release that later became the Classic version, Minecraft is now available for Windows, Linux, and macOS. The latest addition to the family, namely Minecraft Earth, is a free-to-play title for mobile devices that belongs to the augmented reality realm.
Minecraft Earth comes as a 10th anniversary treat that features all the highlights one would expect from it: the ability to collect the mobs already present in the existing titles, gather resources and explore the neighborhood, team up with other players, and also fight hostile mobs.
Unfortunately, Minecraft Earth is now ready for download yet. Although the official reveal trailer — which you can check out below — looks quite attractive, the game itself apparently needs some more polishing. According to Microsoft, the limited beta will kick off "this summer" and those who sign up for it will receive a free Earth skin for Minecraft Bedrock right away. In my early school days, I hated writing and having to make up stories. A decade later, I started to enjoy it. Since then, I published a few offline articles and then I moved to the online space, where I contributed to major websites that are still present online as of 2021 such as Softpedia, Brothersoft, Download3000, but I also wrote for multiple blogs that have disappeared over the years. I've been riding with the Notebookcheck crew since 2013 and I am not planning to leave it anytime soon. In love with good mechanical keyboards, vinyl and tape sound, but also smartphones, streaming services, and digital art.
